Following the sell-out success of the #limitededition Waterman in 2018, #bremont is introducing its much anticipated
successor with the Waterman Apex. Designed to celebrate life on and under the water, the Waterman Apex is a highperformance mechanical dive watch forming part of Bremont’s iconic Supermarine range. Limited to just 250 pieces,
the Waterman Apex is not just built to be entirely fit for purpose, but sales of the watch will also be supporting oceanic
research for the pioneering non-profit organisation Bimini Shark Lab.
Proudly sporting and testing the Waterman Apex is arguably the greatest big wave surfer of all time, ‘Waterman’ Laird
Hamilton, world-renowned for taming some of the planet’s mightiest waves. Laird is an American sportsman, waterman,
pioneer, and innovator who joins Bremont’s impressive line-up of Brand Ambassadors. A celebrated innovator and guiding
genius of crossover board sports including tow-in-surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and hydrofoil boarding, Laird is the
ultimate Waterman, continuously pushing himself beyond endurance and expanding all possibilities within the sport.
In line with Bremont’s most technical dive watches the Waterman Apex incorporates an automatic helium escape
valve and crown protector as well as boasting a 42 hour power reserve with GMT and date functionality. The 43mm
steel Trip-Tick® case incorporates a scratch resistant sapphire uni-directional bezel paired with a matt black dial
subtly decorated with a shark fin motif amongst waves, nodding to the partnership with Bimini Shark Lab. The SuperLumiNova® filled applied indexes and hands are complemented by a red seconds hand and blue GMT hand which
matches the integrated Harbour Blue rubber strap. Turning the watch over reveals its open sapphire case back through
which the custom rotor can be seen, designed to reprise the dial with the shark fin motif in blue. Despite having an
open case back, the Waterman Apex is water resistant to 500m with the movement being protected by Bremont’s
patented anti-shock vibration mount technology. True to form, this is a watch that can be tested to extremes.
Continuing Bremont’s passion for ocean conservation, the new #limitededition celebrates the work of The Bimini
Shark Lab with #bremont donating a percentage of all Waterman Apex watch sales to support and continue their work.
The Bimini Biological Field Station Foundation, ‘Bimini Shark Lab’, is a non-profit organisation in The U.S.A and The
Bahamas focused on advancing humankind’s knowledge of the biology of marine animals, particularly sharks and rays.
Established in 1990 by Dr Samuel Gruber, the Shark Lab mission was clear: to better understand the biology of sharks
and rays and the role that they play in the marine ecosystem; to educate future scientists and to enhance conservation
and awareness through the promotion of findings.
