1947-2022 | 75 YEARS LAMBRETTA
In 1947 the first #lambretta enters the Italian market. Soon after, new models conquer the
streets of all continents. The #lambretta becomes an object of worship, of a modern icon,
always remaining faithful to its superior quality and its characteristic Italian design. Lambretta
becomes a lifestyle. Its models have since then turned heads and won the hearts of millions of
people around the world.
The #lambretta has always been technologically superior and more powerful than its rivals. It
had better steering and a centrally mounted engine. Its design was more vigorous, and
stronger. It was ultimately sportier and more expensive than all its competitors.
To celebrate these 75 years of tradition and passion, #lambretta and #lambretta Museum have
joined forces to exhibit an ambitious art installation during the week of Fuorisalone 2022. In the heart of Milan, in the Chiostro Piccolo of San Simpliciano, #breradesigndistrict, the prestigious Milanese brand exhibits its most representative models. Among these the first model produced, the #lambretta M (A) designed by Cesare Pallavicino for the frame part and by Pier Lugi Torre for the mechanical part, then the "golden scooter" of the American actress Jane Mansfield and the model used by the NYPD, the Police of New York.
Like so many models of the past, once again Milan is hosting a launch. During the celebrations, #lambretta takes the opportunity to launch two premium models.
• #lambretta proudly presents its flagship model G350.
• #lambretta launches the X300 which will be the big surprise of Design Week as it features a high-end innovative design.
Another highlight during the celebrations is the gathering of #lambretta Club #milano on the 8th
of June. At 18.00 fifty classic #lambretta riders will gather at the entrance of the cloister to have their periodic meeting.
Lambretta occupies a prestigious position in the premium segment of the #scooter market. Quality, performance and design; nothing has been spared to make this dream a reality. The global launch will be live broadcasted all over the world to give Lambrettisti the opportunity to experience this special moment.
THE ARTISTIC INSTALLATION
Infinity | Heritage to future. This is the theme of the #lambretta special exhibition. The idea is suggestive. By combining in an artistic installation that represents the infinite, the iconic models of the past, the present and the new models that represent the future, in relation to each other thanks to the extensive use of iconographic material of rare beauty and suggestion. For the first time in history, all models are presented jointly. #lambretta projects its infinite life into the eyes of the world!
By visiting the exhibition, you will experience time starting from the outside ring to the very center of the installation. We invite you to start with the breath-taking black and white pictures in the gallery of the cloister, symbolizing the spirit of Lambretta’s birth. parallel to that an elevated exposition is being revealed of more than one hundred colourful iconic #lambretta images that have been integrated in the ancient ‘ceiling frescos’ of the cloister. It symbolizes the relative position of #lambretta in the rich history of Italy. The cloister columns surround and sustain the spirit of the art-installation. And in the middle, in the center of Lambretta’s universe in the very center of the square, in the center of the installation, we find the imaginary twisting point, highlighting the X300 and the G350; both defining our future on this moment in time.
