Evan Bros.WorldSSP Yamaha Team back on track at Estoril: everything ready for the third round of the 2022 season

After three Sundays without action, the #evanbrosworldsspyamahateam is ready to fire up the engines again. This weekend the third round of the 2022 season will take place at the #estoril circuit. The Portuguese track joined the Supersport calendar in 2020, and since then two of the four rounds have been won by #evanbrosworldsspyamahateam riders.

The #estoril circuit was also the scene of one of the Ravenna-based team's winter tests, but it was only able to make partial use of the two-day program due to bad weather. #lorenzobaldassarri was nevertheless able to familiarize himself with the track, on which he races the last time in 2011, and now returns to Portugal eager to do well, on the strength of the victory and the two podiums obtained in the first two rounds of the season, which put him in second place in the championship standings.

Also ready for battle is #petersebestyen, for whom the last few weeks have been very important. After the problems with his left shoulder suffered at Assen, the Hungarian rider has worked with dedication to regain the right condition, assisted by both Italian and Hungarian doctors. Peter has shown clear and encouraging signs of improvement, also feeling good in the track training sessions, and is now ready to get back on his Yamaha YZF-R6.

The weekend's programme will open on Friday, with the two free practice sessions scheduled for 11.25 and 4 local time, while on Saturday it will be time for Superpole (10.25) and Race 1 (15.15). On Sunday the programme will end with Race 2, scheduled at 12.30.

Lorenzo Baldassarri:
"I have some good memories of #estoril, even though they go back more than ten years. In the tests with the team the rain prevented us from working as we would have liked, but I'm sure we'll still be able to start off on the right foot. We are growing, so I am looking forward to this new weekend".

Peter Sebestyen:
"I am really looking forward to #racing again. Unfortunately I had to miss Race 2 at Assen, but over the last few weeks I've been working to get back into shape and luckily my shoulder has responded very well. I have been riding the Yamaha R3 and getting good responses, so I think I am ready for the weekend. I hope to start getting the results that both the team and I are looking for".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "We are ready and motivated for #estoril. Peter has received great reassurance about the state of his shoulder, having already had very good feelings on the bike in a couple of short tests. The work he has done over the last few weeks has been very useful, and I think he is now ready for a no problem weekend where he can prove his worth. Lorenzo wants to make up points on the overall leader, and I am sure he will give his all from the first free practice session".
