SONNY III: new for sale & open day
Camper & Nicholsons is delighted to announce its appointment as Central Agent for the sale of Sonny III.
Andrew LeBuhn - the listing broker of Camper & Nicholsons USA - is happy to announce the availability of SONNY III through a lease/purchase structure.
The open house is the only chance to see SONNY III before she heads North to Newport, Rhode Island.

SONNY III is the third custom designed #yacht from the original owner which was constructed in partnership with Brooklin Boat Yard in Maine. Sadly, after only three years he stepped away from yachting for health reasons. She was quickly acquired by a well-known figurehead of the superyacht industry, who had a broader vision for Sonny III. He deiced to totally upgrade and refine her with top of the line racing equipment, but also improving on her extended cruising capabilities with totally renewed features and systems throughout.
A joint team of professional racers, highly skilled engineers and craftsmen worked on plans for a major upgrade/refit which took place at Brooklin Boat Yard spanning seven (7) months in late 2021. She sailed to Florida in November, and then sailed on to the Caribbean where she participated in the St. Bart Bucket Regatta this past March (2022). She is now back in Florida for a bit and then off to New England for the spring/summer. SONNY III has elegant flush decks with broad expanses on 1/2 inch thick solid teak decks. Coupled with her new custom carbon rig, upgraded sails, flush mounted deck hatches, varnished dorade ventilator boxes and magnificent shear-line, she turns heads everywhere she goes.
Now, SONNY III is totally outfitted for racing but she also has the ability to be a great weekend cruiser for a family. Her systems are capable of a simple cruising mode but also have racing mode if desired, which makes her one of the most versatile sailing vessels on the water and a true dream boat for the right person.
Her recent refit in Maine cost over $2.5M and nearly every system was inspected, rebuilt, replaced, or approved as being in nearly new condition. She received a full paint job, and all decorative wood was stripped and redone with sun resistant two-part epoxy varnish.
