Asics ventures invests in run. Edge. Limited, a provider of video search and real-time analytics services in sports and enterprise field
ASICS Corporation is pleased to announce that its investment subsidiary, #asics Ventures Corporation, has invested in RUN. EDGE Limited (“RUN. EDGE”), a provider of real-time sports video analysis applications such as “FL-UX”, “PITCHBASE, and “TAGURU”.
RUN. EDGE is a startup company, which was carved out of Fujitsu Limited in June 2018. With the mission of "Creating new experiences through video and technology”, RUN. EDGE provides video search and real-time analysis platforms in the sports and enterprise fields including education.
The baseball high-speed video search and analysis application "PITCHBASE" has been introduced by more than 14 professional baseball teams in Japan and U.S., as well as amateur baseball. “FL-UX”, an application for field sports such as soccer, basketball, and rugby, has been introduced by more than 80 top professional and amateur clubs in Japan and overseas. “TAGURU”, which utilizes video technology cultivated in professional sports for online education, has been introduced at universities and private tutoring schools to promote a new educational style. Furthermore, RUN. EDGE employs video technology for media and enterprises to enable people to use video for their daily lives and in all kinds of social activities.

In accordance with its Mid-Term Plan 2023, #asics seeks to “Create innovation by future technology,” and hence has solicited ideas from startups for products and services that will use its technology and brand to accelerate the realization of innovative ideas.
Through the #partnership with RUN. EDGE, #asics will aim to provide value to people all over the world, by expanding and utilizing video analysis and their technologies to not only various sports but also business categories.
