The Next Web: start-ups and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles present environmentally friendly ideas

  • Focus of the conference is on innovations like reusable food packaging, fairly produced and traded clothing and deliveries that don’t produce local emissions
  • Included: the sustainable ID. BUZZ Cargo concept vehicle that will go on sale next year

Hannover/Amsterdam, 30 September 2021 – How can online trading be made more environmentally friendly? What new mobility solutions will there be? And where can I compare and order exclusively fair traded clothing? “The Next Web”, in short TNW, is the title of a conference in Amsterdam that focuses on these questions. Today and tomorrow no less than 3000 companies will present their products and services – both on site and digitally. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) is also there and already offers a look ahead at the cargo version of the future ID. BUZZ, an all-electric van. Dennis Haustein, head of market intelligence at VWCV, presents it at TNW in dialogue with three start-up companies who also have environmental friendliness as a focus area of their overall concept.

“The ID. BUZZ will not only be a sustainable vehicle on account of its all-electric drive that does not produce any local emissions. In addition, no animal products are used in the interior and we use many recycled materials”, says Haustein in the round table discussion with the start-ups. The first commercial vehicle in the ID. family therefore fits perfectly with the principles of young companies such as Vytal, which produces reusable to-go containers and is offering new solutions for food packaging at TNW. And with the start-up Trunkrs, a delivery service that aims to reduce transport emissions. Or the comparison portal Project Ceceis, which claims to be the largest portal for sustainable and fair-trade clothing in Europe and now lists more than 25,000 products. Under the hashtag #movingideas and on the website thenextweb.com, these and many other companies whose products are already shaping the world of tomorrow present themselves.

The ID. BUZZ Cargo concept vehicle will be on display at TNW conference. The production versions of the ID. BUZZ and the ID. BUZZ Cargo will be officially presented in the spring of 2022.
