A terrace overlooking the sea of Taormina

Pedrali collections selected for the Villa Fiorita Boutique Hotel

The Villa Fiorita Boutique Hotel is a traditional early 20th century #taormina villa situated close to the city’s famous Corso Umberto and features a unique blend of antique and modern-day styles. Built on rock and recently restyled by architect Giuseppe Longhitano, the building stands in a setting of unparalleled peace and beauty, a sun-kissed Mediterranean garden redolent with the scent of lemons and mandarin blossoms.

The facility’s characteristic architecture on several levels, interspersed with terraces, stone stairs and gardens, makes its a one of a kind. Inside, close to one of the many terraces, stands the entrance to a Roman tomb dating back to the 2nd century AD, known locally as “La Guardiola”, or the porter’s lodge. This wonderfully preserved structure is visited and studied by enthusiasts and scholars from around the globe.

Upon climbing the external staircase, the views from every corner of the villa extend towards the vast expanse of sea lapping the beaches and beyond, down to the Strait of Messina and, on clear, sunny days, even as far as the coast of Calabria.

Pedrali’s new outdoor collections have been selected to furnish this magical setting.
Reva Twist, the elegant new three-seater sofa designed by Patrick Jouin featuring smooth lines and generous sizes and evoking, even in its name, the relaxing, dreamy atmospheres typical of the summer season, is particularly suitable for the panoramic terrace in this truly exceptional location. Four tapered legs in die-cast aluminium are placed at the extremities of the perimeter frame in extruded aluminium. The steel backrest and armrests are woven with a flat rope in weather-resistant polypropylene to ensure a natural yield. In this upholstered sofa, comfort is enhanced by soft its cushions that rest on the frame, for a relaxing, reassuring #design.

These small sofas are paired with the Panarea armchairs by CMP Design, hand-woven in Italy to give them an elegant appearance, granting the seat a three-dimensional, graphic rigour, as well as making it lightweight and easy to move. The idea behind Panarea is rooted in the Mediterranean coastline, and in the colours and refreshing breeze of an open-air meal on a sea-facing terrace, on an exhilarating summer’s day. The wide and enveloping backrest is woven in polypropylene cord which creates an original geometry similar to a Greek fret and wraps around the tubular steel frame as far as the armrests. On the seat rests a comfortable cushion padded in dry-feel polyurethane foam that dries quickly and is covered in fabric made from the same thread as that used for the woven element.

The exceptionally light Lunar tables, designed by Pio and Tito Toso, complete the setting, allowing the architecture of the surrounding environment to come to life.

Pedrali welcomes guests from the moment of their arrival at the hotel: the Log seats, designed by Busetti, #garuti and #redaelli have been selected for the hotel lobby in shades of blue, that delightfully contrast with the walls and feature alongside Patrick Jouin’s Social sofa. The breakfast room, instead, sports the Nolita chairs by CMP Design, evoking the origins of a journey embarked upon by Mario #pedrali in 1963 with his first metal garden chairs.
