President of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini visits Lamborghini - Meeting between the President and CEO Winkelmann on the future electrification plan and visit to the construction sites

Sant’Agata Bolognese, June 21, 2021 – Today, June 21, the President of Emilia-Romagna #stefanobonaccini visited the Automobili #lamborghini facilities in Sant’Agata Bolognese accompanied by Vincenzo Colla, Regional Councilor for economic development and the #green economy, employment, and training. The meeting with the President and CEO #stephanwinkelmann, as well as several board members, provided an opportunity to discuss “Direzione Cor Tauri”, the #lamborghini strategic development program announced in recent weeks. With an investment of more than € 1.5 billion over the next four years, #lamborghini is about to embark on a journey of radical transformation, on the path toward the decarbonization of future models and the Sant’Agata Bolognese site, with a significant impact on the local area in terms of economic growth, development of new skills, and the ability to attract talent.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman & CEO, commented: “We are delighted to welcome President Bonaccini and the Regional Councilor Colla to our facilities and to share our goals for a more sustainable future. The pledge we’ve made, supported by the biggest investment plan in the history of the company, is proof of our strong commitment not only to our customers, but also to the region where it all started, Emilia-Romagna, our staff and their families, to continue raising the profile of Made in Italy and increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of this unique region”.

President #stefanobonaccini stated: “Today, we have further confirmation of the path we want to take in Emilia-Romagna, demonstrating that industrial development, technological research, and eco-sustainable policies can not only coexist, but can also act as a driving force for progress throughout the region. These are the pillars on which the Labor and Climate Agreement, signed by more than sixty organizations in our region, is based, setting a target in line with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda. What's more, projects like Lamborghini’s strengthen the reputation and leadership of our products on foreign markets, qualities that are turning Emilia-Romagna into one of the most attractive regions in Europe”.

The visit started at MUDETEC, the #lamborghini Museum of Technology, which is hosting a new display dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Countach, one of the most iconic models in the history of the brand. The tour then continued to the production facilities, where there was a brief meeting with the trade union representative, and ended with a visit to the operating construction sites, which extend across 47,000 m2, showing not only the magnitude of the work underway, but above all the further potential opened up by this new phase of investment.
