Mercedes-Benz Vans extends its brand involvement with the Union Cycliste Internationale

Stuttgart. #mercedesbenzvans extends its three-year involvement with the #unioncyclisteinternationale (UCI) in 2021 and continues to be the title sponsor of the UCI Mountain #bike World Cup. The UCI Mountain #bike World Championships are also supported once again by the brand with the three-pointed star, as a main partner from this year on. At the centre of the brand commitment to the biking scene is the V-Class MPV, and also its new, electrically driven sister model the #eqv (combined power consumption: 26.4-26.3 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km)[1]. #anjagutmann, Head of Marketing Communication at #mercedesbenzvans, said on the occasion of the contract extension: "We are delighted to continue our brand presence in mountain biking together with our long-term partner the UCI.” And she emphasized: “We're proud to be integrating our #eqv into our sporting activities to a greater extent from this year on, in addition to the V-Class! In doing so, we are taking a further step towards the locally emission-free future. And setting an example for the following generations."

About the UCI

Founded in 1900 in Paris (France), the #unioncyclisteinternationale (UCI) is the worldwide governing body for cycling. It develops and oversees cycling in all its forms, for all people: as a competitive #sport, a healthy recreational activity, a means of transport, and also just for fun. The UCI manages and promotes the eight cycling disciplines: road, track, mountain #bike, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, cyclo-cross, trials and indoor cycling. Five of these are featured on the Olympic Games programme (road, track, mountain #bike, BMX Supercross and BMX Freestyle Park), two in the Paralympic Games (road and track) and four in the Youth Olympic Games (road, mountain #bike, BMX Supercross and BMX Freestyle Park).

About the Mercedes-Benz EQV

The Mercedes-Benz #eqv (combined power consumption: 26.4-26.3 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km)[1] is the first MPV from Mercedes-Benz with all-battery drive. The #eqv combines the versatility of the V-Class with the advantages of a locally emission free drive system. In addition, the #eqv is incorporated into an electric mobility eco-system consisting of intelligent navigation with active range management and cloud-based services and apps. The infotainment system MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) serves as the central control unit. The #eqv also sets new standards for electrical mobility in its class with its range of up to 418 kilometres[2], [3] and its broad spectrum of usage for a wide range of customers' requirements.
