Serapian and Azucena | The two historical Milanese Maisons join forces on a special project: bespoke Mosaico cushions enhance the iconic Catilina chair.

When talking about the essence of the Milanese Chic, refined elegance, charming understatement and impeccable know-how are the pillars. Stefano #serapian started creating his wonderfully handcrafted accessories in 1928 with these values in mind. Like the architects Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua, who in 1947 founded #azucena, for bringing together some collections to furnish buildings they had designed.

Serapian and #azucena always vowed to pure #excellence, a tale to tell together now through a unique project.

Caccia Dominioni presented his Catilina chair at the XI Triennale in Milano in 1953, immediately turning into one of his classics. Conceived to be a sort of “domestic throne”, it is essential with its clean lines and dignifies those sitting on it.

Serapian’s best artisans from the Bespoke Atelier reinterpreted the cushion completing the chair with the prestigious Mosaico craft, entirely hand-made today as it was when Stefano #serapian invented it, the same year of Azucena’s birth.

In every single piece, #serapian and #azucena celebrate the marriage of mastery and beauty, both talking to a sophisticated audience of connoisseurs, constantly looking for remarkable pieces, with a great story of allure and lifestyle.

Giovanni Nodari #serapian, a third-generation member of the #serapian family, helms today the Bespoke Atelier whose maestros produced such one-of-a-kind objects. Soft braided nappa stripes wrap the cushions’ sides, playing with colour combinations from the iconic black & white, to touches of fuchsia, mint, red, bronze or navy blue. For those expert hands, nothing is impossible, and this is just another dream fulfilled.
