A prominent figure of Italian #design, Domenico (Ico) Parisi returns to the #cassina catalogue with a collection of furniture reissued from both the company's historical archive and from private commissions of models never serially produced before.
Thanks to a meticulous philological process of research and development, carried out in collaboration with the Ico Parisi #design Archives, #cassina has studied original documents, prototypes and existing models to produce this mid-century furniture with traditional carpentry workmanship combined with the most advanced technologies, always in full respect of the original project.
As a sign of authenticity, the entire collection bears the logo and signature of Ico Parisi as well as the progressive number that corresponds to the identity card that accompanies each piece.
The elegant 875 armchair, originally designed by Ico Parisi in 1960 for #cassina, is characterised by unusual arched supports and a comfortable and ample seat, especially considering its era.
Eclectic, innovative and adaptable to any context, this functional armchair is perfect for any room of the home, from the living to the dining room, and is particularly suitable for creating small cosy living areas.
The Olimpino dining table was originally designed for a villa near Como in 1955. The #cassina Research and Development Centre has conducted a careful study of the original model to bring this unique project into serial production for the first time.
The table’s slender, tubular metal structure supports a rectangular monolithic sheet of glass that allows its articulated shape below to be admired. Its uniqueness is further defined by elegant arrow-shaped solid wood feet that nicely contrast with its metal legs and crossbar.
Expertly designed, Olimpino has a bold appearance that makes it highly recognisable.
The PA' 1947 solid wood console table was designed in 1947 and used in numerous projects including Ico Parisi’s own home.
The parts elegantly come together and dialogue in a fluid and continuous way to create a refined and balanced console table that is particularly characterised by its divergent solid wood Y-shaped legs that highlight Cassina’s know-how in wood craftsmanship.
The console table’s name is a tribute to Parisi’s nickname, PA’, that is the beginning of his surname together with an accent resulting in a diminutive form of the word ‘father’ in recognition of his role in leading the modern movement in the city of Como.
