Brazilian designer Ronald Sasson presents jewel sculptures in gold and silver

Elegant tableware and fruit bowls are exclusive pieces designed by Ronald Scliar​ Sasson for Riva, world-famous Brazilian brand for its silver objects and stainless​ steel 18/10, exceeding the limit of simple tableware and decor.

Made of stainless steel plated with gold and silver, the objects are truly sculptures. "Nature and my country Brazil have inspired me in designing this collection for Riva, which has great know-how in the use and cutting of stainless steel sheets", says the 51-year-old designer who has received about 30 awards in his 15-year career.

BIO Ronald Sasson

Perfectionist. This is how #ronaldsasson sees himself. Bachelor's degree in​ agronomy, the Brazilian designer was always fascinated by the shapes of the​ furniture produced by the family company. At the time of the university, he used to paint in his spare time until one day he decided to become a full-time designer.

Nowadays, #ronaldsasson became one of the most important designers in Brazil. He lived a few years in Europe and in the Middle East and has incorporated in his creations the simplicity of the Nordic #design and the spirit of the Mediterranean style. In recent years, the Brazilian designer has become well known in the world.  

In Italy, he has participated frequently at the last five editions of the Brazil S/A at the Fuorisalone and his art pieces exhibited​  at the ​ Nhow Hotel and at Galleria​ Paola Colombari, in Milan, and finally landed at the Venice Biennale. Some of his works, such as the Acqua bench, have been awarded the A 'Design Award Gold, in 2016.

Born in Curitiba, #ronaldsasson decided to move to Gramado, in the south of Brazil, to closely monitor the progress or quality of  his pieces. "Here in Gramado, there are the best establishments in the furniture industry. I want to be a full-time designer and I have to stay close to the production ", explains the Brazilian designer who is always looking for new techniques and materials. #ronaldsasson loves to work with wood, marble, metal, and glass.
