The MACTE Foundation announces the Open Call for the 62nd edition of the Premio Termoli-Architecture and Design Section: applications can be sent until December 16, 2020.

The Premio Termoli, established in 1955, is one of the longest-running artistic events in Italy and one that gave birth to the collection of artworks presently entrusted to the Fondazione #macte

In 2020, the history renews itself with the creation of a new branch of the Premio Termoli, the Architecture and Design Section, which introduces an open call for projects by commission, fostering the tradition of Italy as a place for ingenuity in welcoming new architectural and artistic approaches.

The 62nd edition of the Premio Termoli is curated by Laura Cherubini and will award two cash prizes, one for the winner of the Visual Arts Section and one for the Architecture and Design Section. The selection process will consist of a curatorial committee responsible for the direct invitation of artists for the Visual Arts Section, whereas for the Architecture and Design Section we are seeking online submissions from international architects, designers and artists until December 16 2020.

The purpose of the contest of the 62nd Premio Termoli–Architecture and Design Section is to design an urban bus stop shelter, meant for the city of Termoli, which must be innovative and technologically advanced and eco-sustainable.  For the full submissions guidelines please download the contest rules and appendixes below.

A qualified jury composed of Laura Cherubini, Curator of the 62nd Premio Termoli; Domitilla Dardi, Curator for Design, MAXXI; Angela Rui, Design critic and curator; Andrea Viliani, Head and Curator CRRI-Castello di Rivoli Research Center, Curator Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters and Paolo De Matteis Larivera, President of the Fondazione #macte will select the finalists whose projects will be exhibited in the show of the 62nd Premio Termoli, held at the #macte Museum.

The winner of the 62nd Premio Termoli–Architecture and Design Section will be, not only awarded a cash prize for the project deemed best by the jury, but also entrusted to the Municipality of Termoli for inclusion in its urban redevelopment plans. In addition to the jury of experts, there will be a special mention awarded by popular vote by the visitors on the last day of the exhibition at the #macte Museum.

Application details and attachments can be downloaded on www.fondazionemacte.com in the Premio Termoli section.
