Montegrappa - Push The Envelope

Advanced materials and bold Italian thinking dominate the design of the new F1® Seventy. Montegrappa's newest trophy pen celebrates 70 years of Formula 1® – fusing titanium and carbon fibre with high-calibre performance and a passion for extremes.

Sport's most thrilling spectacle speeds into the writing arena with the unveiling of the F1 Seventy. Ever since its creation in 1950, #formula1 has personified courage, innovation and the desire to win. Now these values set the parameters for a high-tech rebuild undertaken for motorsport's main event.

A radical rethink of the Extra Otto uses titanium and carbon fibre to create a housing among the lightest and strongest in its class. Advanced tooling is used to mill every edge to perfection and accentuate the flawless writing performance of an elite silhouette that belongs firmly at the front row of the grid.

The F1 Seventy possesses flash and finesse in equal measure, as well as an official sanction from #formula1. Racing-red enamel is applied to a debossed F1 logo in the cap top, and special, jubilee-season branding is 'ghost'-etched into the barrel and cap.

Tonal racing-stripes, tyre tread patterning and a high-grade Damascus polish provide further surface detailing with superior grip. The victor's chequered flag is also incorporated onto a titanium cap band: only 33 drivers from 14 countries have won the FIA Formula One World Championship since its inception.

Speed-freaks will appreciate a slick rollerball option, while purists can feel the acceleration of a fountain pen fitted with a custom, 18K gold nib – backed by a proprietary piston-fill system that has long been the envy of rival makers. A deluxe F1 presentation case houses both models.

With only 100 examples made in each mode, the F1 Seventy is a trophy in its own right. The current 2020 season is once again proving the sport's incredible resilience. After seven decades at the vanguard of valour, design and engineering, #formula1 is showing no sign of slowing down.
