Bocelli And Mitoraj in Noto to promote Sicilian Unesco sites
Noto, UNESCO heritage, becomes a stage of an incredible and unique, cultural and media event. In a scenario from the dreamlike atmospheres, among the sinuous baroque architecture of the staircase of the Cathedral, thanks to the financial commitment of the Sicilian Region and the Municipality, on Saturday 24 October a concert by #andreabocelli will be held. The tenor - who will be accompanied by the orchestra and choir of the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, directed by Alberto Bartalini will in fact become the testimonial of the seven Unesco sites on the island.
The project of “Noto città d’arte” which saw Noto capital protagonists of important exhibitions, continues (until February 2021) always on the same site with six monumental works by #igormitoraj. One of the most known and appreciated throughout the world, thanks to the collaboration of the Atelier Mitoraj in Pietrasanta.
The initiative, in addition to the Sicilian Region, through the Tourism Department, and also the Municipality of Noto, is supported by the Sicilian Regional Assembly, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Diocese of Noto, the South-East Chamber of Commerce and by Unicredit. Producers of the project are the companies Media and Officina Creativa.
The event, which will take place in strict compliance with specific regulations to prevent Covid, it’s held in Noto - leader of the Unesco site "Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto" but it’s representative and narrative of all the other six "Heritage of the Humanity ”of the Island: Valley of the Temples of Agrigento; Syracuse and the rock necropolis of Pantalica; the Roman Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina; the Aeolian Islands; Etna; Arab- Norman Palermo with the cathedrals of Cefalù and Monreale.
The unique event made by the Bocelli-Mitoraj duo, protagonists, with their art, of the atmospheres of the most beautiful classical tradition. A world-wide spot of art in art that will focus on Sicily's world-class assets. With 90 million records sold, a star on the Walk of Fame, an audience that includes American presidents, popes and royal families. #andreabocelli is one of the most respected artists of all time. With his album "Si", he managed to make history by conquering at the same time the first place on the American Billboard200 and the English charts: a success never before achieved by an Italian artist.
A cultural event of considerable depth comments the president of the Sicilian Region Nello Musumeci in a city- symbol of the island's Baroque art. A stage of promotion of Sicily that joins the testimonial of Dolce and Gabbana and the start of the Giro d’Italia. Events made with passion by the Tourism Councilor Manlio Messina, to increase the attractiveness of this land of ours.
The Mitoraj - Bocelli" initiative in Noto declares the Mayor of the City, Corrado Bonfanti is nothing more than the start of a virtuous path that sees as protagonists all the Sicilian sites registered in the World Heritage List for the first time their registration in the World Heritage List, called to network, to have a single vision, contributing to the growth of individual local communities, making Sicily grow at the same time. I am grateful to President Musumeci, the first President to understand this extraordinary unitary vision of our Island, the most endowed with sites of recognized Exceptional Value.
