Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Fores al lavoro nelle prove libere sulla pista dell’Estoril

E' iniziato oggi all'autodromo dell'Estoril in Portogallo l'ottavo ed ultimo round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike. E' dal 1993 che il mondiale delle derivate non corre sulla pista situata alle porte di Lisbona.
Cielo soleggiato e pista asciutta questa mattina per il primo turno di prove libere, nel quale Xavi #fores il pilota del #kawasakipuccettiracing ha fatto segnare il tempo di 1'38"801, terminando in quattordicesima posizione.
Nella sessione del pomeriggio, pur migliorando il suo best lap di oltre mezzo secondo (1'38"266) lo spagnolo ha mantenuto il quattordicesimo posto, lavorando con i suoi tecnici alla messa a punto della sua Ninja, per prepararsi alle ultime tre gare della stagione.
Domani #fores disputerà il terzo ed ultimo turno di prove libere e a seguire la Superpole e la prima gara del weekend.

"Oggi è stata una giornata positiva per quanto riguarda il set up della #moto. Ci siamo concentrati sull'usura delle gomme, ed ho girato molto con le stesse gomme, facendo segnare il mio best lap al ventesimo giro. Questo mio rende molto fiducioso per le gare. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo provato delle nuove regolazioni delle sospensioni ed il risultato è stato buono. Non mi sono migliorato di quanto avrei voluto, ma devo dire che oggi più che il giro veloce abbiamo lavorato sulla distanza. Nel terzo turno di libere di domani ci prepareremo per la Superpole. Voglio concludere al meglio questa stagione".
Kawasaki Puccetti #racing – Forés gets to work during free practice at Estoril
This weekend sees the #estoril circuit in Portugal host the eighth and final round of the #superbikeworldchampionship. This is the first time the production-derived series has visited the Portuguese track since 1993.
The morning's first free practice took place on a dry track under sunny skies. #kawasakipuccettiracing rider Xavi Forés set a time of 1'38"801, finishing in fourteenth place.
In the afternoon's session, and despite improving on his earlier time by more than half a second (1'38"266), the Spaniard maintained fourteenth position, working with his technicians to set-up his Ninja in preparation for the final three races of the season.
Forés will return to the track tomorrow for the third and final practice followed by the Superpole and the weekend's first race.

"Today has been positive in terms of identifying the bike set-up. We focused on tyre consumption, so I completed many laps on the same tyres, setting my best time on the twentieth lap. This gives me confidence ahead of the races. In the afternoon, we tried some new suspension settings and the feedback was positive. I didn't improve as much as I'd hoped to, but I admit that we were working more on distance rather than flying lap times. In tomorrow's third practice we'll prepare for Superpole. I want to finish the season as strongly as possible."
