Seconda giornata di prove e di gare oggi al Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya in Spagna per il #kawasakipuccettiracing, impegnato nel sesto round del campionato mondiale Superbike.
La giornata di ieri era stata caratterizzata dalla pioggia, che aveva ostacolato il secondo turno di prove libere e Xavi #fores aveva concluso al tredicesimo posto nella classifica riassuntiva delle due sessioni.
Questa mattina, su di una pista ancora bagnata dalla pioggia, il pilota spagnolo ha preferito non prendere parte alla terza sessione di libere, mantenendo comunque la sua tredicesima posizione nella classifica delle prove.
La sesta Superpole stagionale è iniziata in tarda mattinata su una pista ancora non perfettamente asciutta. Il miglior crono di #fores è stato di 1'42"615 e lo ha posizionato in quattordicesima posizione. Quinta fila per lui nella gara che si è disputata nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 20 giri.
Xavi è scattato benissimo allo spegnersi del semaforo e si è portato al dodicesimo posto. In pochi giri lo spagnolo del #kawasakipuccettiracing ha risalito la classifica sino al nono posto, che ha mantenuto sino a sei giri dalla fine, quando un calo delle gomme lo ha costretto a ridurre il suo ritmo e ad accontentarsi della tredicesima posizione finale. Un risultato bugiardo, che non rispetta l'ottima gara di #fores, che è stato a lungo in lotta per l'ottava posizione, assieme ai piloti ufficiali.
Anche domani il #kawasakipuccettiracing sarà impegnato sulla pista catalana prima nella Superpole Race e a seguire in gara2, che concluderà il sesto round del campionato.

"Sono partito bene ed il mio ritmo era molto buono. Ero assieme a Lowes e tenevo agevolmente il suo passo. Ad un certo punto però ho iniziato ad avvertire un calo di gomme, dovuto probabilmente al fatto che non riesco a fermare bene la #moto e metto in crisi le gomme, soprattutto l'anteriore. Ho dovuto rallentare il mio ritmo ed ho perso posizioni. E' un problema che dobbiamo risolvere perché se riuscissimo a sfruttare al meglio le gomme potremmo ottenere risultati migliori. Il fatto positivo è che ora riesco a guidare come preferisco e mi sento molto più a mio agio sulla #moto. Ringrazio la squadra che ha fatto come sempre un gran lavoro".
Kawasaki Puccetti #racing – The result does not reflect Forés strong race 1 at Barcelona
Taking part in round six of the #superbikeworldchampionship, #kawasakipuccettiracing have completed Superpole and race 1 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today.
Yesterday was characterised by rain, which hindered progress in the second free practice and saw rider Xavi Forés place thirteenth in the combined standings.
This morning, on a track that was still wet, the Spaniard chose not to participate in the third free practice, nevertheless retaining thirteenth place overall.
The sixth Superpole of the season began in the late morning on a track that was still not totally dry. Forés best time was a 1'42"615 which positioned him fourteenth at the session's end, meaning a spot on the fifth row for the afternoon's 20-lap race.
Xavi made a very good start when the lights went out and moved up into twelfth place. In just a few laps, the #kawasakipuccettiracing had progressed to ninth, a position he held until six laps from the end, when a drop in tyre performance forced him to slow his pace and settle for eventual thirteenth position. A misleading result that does not reflect Forés excellent race, where he battled long and hard for eighth place alongside factory riders.
Kawasaki Puccetti #racing will return to the Catalan track tomorrow for the Superpole race followed by the second Superbike race.

"I started well and had very good pace. I was there with Lowes and could easily stick with him. At a certain point though I started to sense a drop in the tyres, probably because I wasn't able to stop the bike well and so was stressing the tyres, particularly the front. I had to slow and lost positions as a result. It's a problem we need to solve because if we could better exploit the tyres, we'd achieve better results. The positive is that I can now ride as I want and feel much more comfortable on my bike. Thanks to my team as they've done another great job today."
