With Sistemi, #davidegroppi imagines the #light of the future.
Until now we have sought to make the source, the bulb, invisible, leaving the #light to speak for itself. #light and all that must be lit.
We have considered our lamps as letters of an imaginary alphabet to create stories of #light.
We have transformed and dematerialised light-objects to make them disappear, making #light pure emotion, patterns that explode in space.
Sistemi takes the challenge one step further, searching for the essence of #light.
We put together everything we have collected over time to tell a whole new story, trying to create the #light of the future. A #light that can dance freely in the space.
Sistemi is #light running on digital tracks, ultra-light and almost invisible wires, modular tapes that can be laid limitlessly on stairs, windows, glass panels.
Circuits that close, accent lighting, ultra-light diodes.
A sign made of different lines, different thicknesses, with the linearity of an ink pen that, rather than tracing ink marks, leaves lines of #light.
Sistemi offers the possibility of composing #light in space with freedom, spatiality, absolute creativity.
Technology helps to break down boundaries. Intangible, almost invisible materials, hidden, camouflages conductors, thin cobwebs of filaments that carry and draw the #light.
Sistemi, as for any other project by #davidegroppi, draws inspiration from art.
Fontana’s cuts, Mirò’s crazy tangled maze of spots and lines.

Davide Groppi in conversation with Franco Tagliaferri, Vice Director ClassCnbc, recounts Sistemi and the lighting solutions Endless, Infinito, Flash and Ohm. Each product lives its own life, but can be integrated with the other.
Endless is the backbone of our project, a digital track, an adhesive conductive strip allowing you to position the #light wherever you want it.
Infinito is a blade of indirect and diffused #light that engraves the fourth wall, a homage to Fontana’s “Spatial Concepts”, painting on the wall, a gash in the canvas.
Flash is inspired by the legendary superhero and is designed for large spaces: direct and diffused #light, dynamic, fast and vibrant. A linear shard of clean #light, direct and diffused, hanging between two points.
Ohm is our accent #light. Four diodes connected to just one, ultra-light single-pole cable. A 12-metre long thin wire, modular and made for multiplying, creating cobwebs of ultra-light, free spots, suspended to draw the space.
This is Sistemi. #light that becomes a free, graphic stroke, pure aesthetics, pulsing elegance.
Universe of points and lines without boundaries, without limits, endless.
A luminous score of shining notes, an orchestra of dancing #light. Symphony of #light.

The beating heart of Sistemi, Endless is an adhesive strip, a conductive strip that can be applied to any kind of surface.
Walls, ceilings, or even stairs, furniture, windows and glass, with Endless they become potential #light spaces.
The Endless system was designed and patented to bring “potential differences” wherever you want them, creating graphic digital designs. This way current can run anywhere, allowing you to connect more than one luminaire at the same time.
Every space becomes an electronic circuit where #light can be positioned with the greatest freedom.
With Endless, one of the greatest dreams of #light designers becomes reality: #light can be used to draw, create patterns, and engrave the darkness.
Finally freed, #light becomes the artist’s brush.

Light runs on a wire. An almost imperceptible wire, suspended in space.
Like a tightrope walker on an ultra-thin wire, the #light reaches everywhere, thrilling and impalpable.
Ohm is an electro-mechanical project that exploits the characteristics of light-emitting diodes to the full.
It pays homage to the great German scientist Georg Simon Ohm and to the fundamental principles of electricity.
Ohm’s secret is a special single-pole cable running between two walls.
The source is practically hidden, discreet and intangible. Ohm draws the space, creating almost invisible cobwebs that support the diodes, sources of projected #light, tiny #light sources suspended in a vibrating space.

INFINITO

An ultra-thin strip cuts through the space producing an indirect #light.
A homage to Lucio Fontana and his “Spatial Concepts”, Infinito frees the #light, making every space, every setting, a clean canvas to be engraved with shining blades, linear graphic marks that hint at the fourth wall, the unknown universe beyond the canvas.
Infinito is an ultra-thin strip measuring just 18 millimetres wide, made from special stainless steel. It can be adapted, oriented, cut, hung between two walls or from ceiling to floor.
Infinito is absence, essence, a stroke, a vision.

FLASH
Design #davidegroppi, 2017
Inspired by the legendary superhero, able to run seven times faster than #light, Flash is the downwards facing direct #light version of the model Infinito.
A stainless steel belt, just 9 millimetres wide, that can reach lengths of up to 12 metres, is ideal for lighting very high spaces.
Flash creates a minimal sign, a richly dynamic and understated power, a linear shard of clean #light, direct and diffused, hanging between two points.
Flash is graphic lightning, invading the space at the speed of #light.
