Racing with a legend: Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN celebrates season start with Giulia GTAm

Hinwil, 3 July 2020 – Alfa Romeo #racing ORLEN will sport a tribute to the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA as Formula One resumes this weekend, with the “GTAm” logo appearing on Antonio Giovinazzi’s race suit at the Austrian Grand Prix and for the remainder of the season. The GTA brand embodies Alfa Romeo’s #racing heritage – the Italian marque claiming the inaugural F1 world championship race, 70 years ago in Silverstone, and the first two drivers’ championships with Nino Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio in 1950 and 1951 respectively – while the new model is the result of the technical partnership between Sauber Engineering and Alfa Romeo.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA, a limited edition model developed to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Alfa Romeo’s founding, represents the highest expression of the brand’s commitment to performance, a trait made even stronger by the contribution to the car’s creation made by Sauber Engineering. Boasting the know-how acquired in 50 years of #racing and 28 seasons of Formula One development, the engineering branch of the Sauber Group of companies designed and manufactured the Giulia GTA and GTAm models’ aerodynamic body kit, conceived and built to enhance the car’s balance and stability in all speed conditions. As part of the solutions developed by Sauber Engineering, the Giulia GTA and GTAm feature a new front splitter, skirts and rear spoiler, alongside a redesigned floor and diffuser – bringing the essence of the pinnacle of motorsport to this new road model.

With a #racing heritage dating back to the very start of the Formula One championship and the combined expertise of Alfa Romeo and Sauber Engineering, the GTA logo will not look out of place on the suit of Italy’s only driver on the grid as the on-track action finally resumes this weekend.
