Basket 011 | sofa & armchair
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed the Basket 011 sofa for #cappellini. It is a collection of sofas with a relaxed and casual appeal. Part of its character is a visible and very distinct outside metal structure which creates a sort of a nest for the inside seat cushions made of polyurethane foam in different densities.
Every detail of the Basket 011 collection consists of a 2 or 3-seater sofa and a large armchair which has been designed to insure maximum comfort. The sofa can be beautifully personalized choosing from one of the four available colors for the metal structure. White, red, anthracite or mud matt, in combination with the color of the removable upholstery, is available on all fabrics and leathers of the #cappellini Collection©. The seat cushions can also be ordered in different fabrics and leathers offering the opportunity to play with several combinations of colors giving a pop or a classic touch. The Basket 011 collection, thanks to its multi-faced #design and its wide range of finishes, can be easily included in both residential and contract settings.
Born in France in the ‘70, the Bouroullec brothers began dealing with #design with a first important cooperation with Issey Miyake in 2000. In few years they were already able to publish two monographs: the “Catalogue de Raison” and the following 2003 Phaidon Issue, both collecting images of their projects. Ronan and Erwan are seen among the stars of the #design world: bold and reflective, poetic and at the same time passionate; their creations represent versatile “micro architectures”, able to characterize and make the places in which they are inserted unique.
