The reigning Formula E champions, DS TECHEETAH, reveals the design of its future car

Buoyed by a success with the most prestigious car manufacturers, Formula E will officially become a FIA world championship the next season. Clearly part of a constant process of innovation, the famous electric competition will introduce the Gen2 EVO, a restyled version of the current car. As part of this aerodynamic evolution, #DS Automobiles and its partner TECHEETAH, present the #design project for their future car.

DS Automobiles and its motorsports department #DS Performance had successfully achieved the transition between both generations of Formula E. With an engine increased to 250 kW and a battery of 52 kWh, the 100% electric discipline benefited from a deep transformation between 2018/2019 by allowing drivers to compete in an entire E-Prix without changing cars.

Lined up by #DStecheetah, the #DS E-TENSE FE19 won the two titles "Drivers" and "Teams" last season. And, while #DS E-TENSE FE20 is succeeding it now on urban circuits around the world (with a podium in Santiago last month), the next generation is already under development.

As an avant-garde discipline like #DS Automobiles, Formula E will make evolve the #design of its car for the 2020/2021 world championship. Modification of the front and rear appendages, addition of a “shark fin” on the engine hood and opening of the front wheel arches, the Gen2 EVO symbolizes the uniqueness of the discipline and embodies the electric motorsport of tomorrow.

Overseen by the #DS Automobiles #design Studio, the #design of the #DStecheetah Gen2 EVO integrates the facelift imagined for season 7 while keeping the black and gold colors of the #DS E-TENSE FE20. Through this new look that foreshadows its future livery, the premium brand of the PSA group, reigning champion in Formula E with the “Drivers” (Jean-Eric Vergne) and “Teams” (TECHEETAH) titles, strengthens the expression of its technological know-how and innovative spirit.

The unveiling of the Gen2 EVO by Formula E will take place on March 3 2020 at the Geneva Motor Show on the FIA stand in the presence of the #DStecheetah team and its driver Jean-Eric Vergne, first double Formula E champion and ambassador of #DS Automobiles.
