The new Lea Ceramiche showcase in Milan, designed by Diego Grandi, investigates the theme of planning: from concept to full-scale test, Mockup is a story about the materiality of architecture

Mockup is the new installation designed by Diego Grandi for the showcase in the Lea Ceramiche showroom in Via Durini, Milan. Investigating the theme of the project, the space is transformed into a real mock-up, a physical reproduction of an architectural project, through which the designer can evaluate the actual rendering of the spaces and of all the elements that combine to create it.

In a continuous dialogue with the world of architecture and interiors, Lea’s ceramic surfaces define the identity of the space, characterizing its personality in a precise and distinctive way.

Whether they are designed for floor or wall surfaces, the new #slimtechnextone and #delight collections, which made their debut at the last edition of Cersaie, are presented in the Via Durini showroom according to the designer’s interpretation and distinctive style. Winding along the volumes, the collections subdivide the perimeter of the space in the form of suspended slabs alternating with overlapping ceramic layers, highlighting formats, thicknesses, textures and decorations.

Slimtech Nextone is the new thin (6 mm) laminated stoneware version in the Nextone collection, which reproduces an engineered stone effect. The combination of 4 types of stone from different quarries, whose characteristics have been fused together, has resulted in the definition of original patterns that recreate a kind of stone that does not exist in nature, but that has a natural and very balanced aesthetic effect.Slimtech technology enables the creation of impressive slabs, up to 120x260cm, for projects which require the space to be seamlessly covered with large formats.

Reinterpreting marble, a natural, ancient material, Delight – previously available in the Slimtech-version slim maxi format – is presented in tactile surfaces with a traditional thickness and distinctly contemporary look in line with the latest trends. The collection features four types of marble, from the intense Marquina Nero and Calacatta Oro, to the more sophisticated Venato Bianco and Invisible Light, and a large variety of formats (90x90; 60x120; 60x60; 30x60cm), available in two finishes: glossy and matt. In addition, Lea Ceramiche also presents a series of refined and geometric decorations embellished with metal elements and surface treatments that make it possible to create different and composite stylistic expressions.

Through Diego Grandi’s personal reading, the new collections transform the space in Via Durini into a striking new set: dialoguing with each other, they highlight the expressive power of ceramic material and suggest new applications for both interiors and for architecture. For the designer, the ability to select from a single collection of different thicknesses, formats and textures guarantees freedom of action and good support in technical terms, enabling them to tackle any type of project.

Lea Ceramiche is the perfect synthesis of visionary #design and technological performance. It is the partner of creativity anywhere in the world, for every single type of architectonic project which seeks distinction through a unique and recognisable style.
