The French GP marks the end of the 2019 season and
METZELER celebrates another two world titles with Steve Holcombe in the E3
Class and Loic Larrieu in the E2 Class following the one already achieved by
Andrea Verona in the Junior class
Ambert (France), 29 September 2019 - The small town of Ambert played host to the last stage of the
FIM Enduro World Championship and, as usual, the Livradois motor club organised an excellent race. The French GP was guaranteed to be an adrenaline-fuelled weekend, and the final was even more so with the two
METZELER riders playing for the final title.
Loic Larrieu and
Alex Salvini brought into play all of their ability and energy for the entire weekend of racing. At the end of the weekend in France, it was
Loic Larrieu who emerged victorious on home ground. Instead, Saturday saw
Steve Holcombe victorious for the fifth time as World Champion in the E3 class, after dominating and winning the day’s racing.
In the
Enduro GP, the English rider tried with all his might to hold on to the title won last year, after having raced for almost the entire season under the effects of a virus, but in the end, he had to surrender the victory and accept a final second place. In the GP on home ground,
Loic Larrieu (TM Racing Factory Team) dominated Day 2, skilfully wining first place.
Following the title gained in the Junior Class,
Andrea Verona (TM Racing Factory Team) took part for the second time in the
E1 Class, and on the first day of racing gained an excellent second place. Excellent performance for
Thomas Oldrati (Team Honda RedMoto) with the
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres. The Honda rider gained a third and fourth place respectively on each of the days.
METZELER celebrates the title won by
Loic Larrieu (TM Racing Factory Team). The rider won both the days’ racing on home ground and recovered the two point disadvantage that saw him behind
Alex Salvini (S2 Motosport Honda RedMoto Sembenini Team). The two riders gave an incredible race, and the battle between the two was played out right at the last moment, in the final special. During the weekend in France, the
METZELER trio was completed in the
E2 Class by the riders from Team
JET Zanardo,
Giacomo Redondi and
Joe Wootton. Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) confirmed his winning of the coveted title on Sunday and closed the 2019 season with another two wins that day.
Danny McCanney (TM Racing Factory Team) completed both days of racing in second place. The rider from the Isle of Man won a silver medal at the end of the races.
The GP in France saw the end of the
2019 FIM Enduro World Championship.
