PSA Foundation awards its 2019 Mobility & Education-Culture Grand Prix to Musée en Herbe

  • The Musée en Herbe was selected as winner of the Grand Prix from among 137 candidates in the call for projects
  • Artivism, the project presented by the Musée en Herbe, gives children an insight into the environmental impact of human activities through works by contemporary artists
  • The support of the #psa Foundation will bring the exhibition to pupils in districts designated as priority areas in urban policy

“The goal of the #psa Foundation is to provide access to art and culture for audiences that have little contact with it,” said Karine Hillaireau, who heads up the #psa Foundation. “The Musée en Herbe’s Artivism project appealed to the Selection Committee because of its commitment to sustainable development and its implementation in the form of mobile workshops. It’s important to teach children about the impact of human activities on the environment from an early age. And art is a powerful teaching aid.”

“Thanks to the funds allocated by the #psa Foundation, the Musée en Herbe’s team is thrilled to have the chance to create a new mini-exhibition to raise children’s awareness about protecting the planet through the creative approach of artists whose commitment in every respect matches their inventiveness,” said Corinne Héreau, Co-Director of the Musée en Herbe. “The mini-exhibition will be shown in schools, day hospitals, clinics for developmentally disabled children and community centres. There’s nothing like play, humour and creativity to convey a message that concerns us all.”

The members of the #psa Foundation Selection Committee, of whom half are qualified and recognised individuals from outside the Group and half Groupe #psa employees, chose 11 winning associations from among 137 candidate projects on 5 September 2019. Following their discussions, the Musée en Herbe was selected as winner of the #psa Foundation’s 2019 Mobility & Education-Culture Grand Prix.
