The GP in the Czech Republic marked the penultimate
stage of the FIM Enduro World Championship and, as usual, the METZELER riders
were the undisputed protagonists. Steve Holcombe and Danny McCanney proved to
be the best in the EnduroGP
Uhlirske Janovice (Czech Republic), 16 September 2019 - The
Czech Republic GP took place in Uhlirske Janovice, approximately 80 km from the capital Prague. The sixth and penultimate round of the
FIM Enduro World Championship took place in good weather, and the three scheduled special trials were worthy of an international challenge. The riders raced on very rocky and stony soft ground in the Enduro test and on hard ground in the cross test, while the extreme test saw the competing riders take on sand and deep ruts.
In the
EnduroGP class,
Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) and
Danny McCanney (TM Racing Factory Team) were the best riders equipped with
METZELER tyres.The final score was the same for both days of racing: two second places for the official Beta rider despite a nasty injury to the right ankle suffered this weekend, during Friday evening’s Super Test, while
Danny McCanney achieved two third places.
Following his GP win at home,
Andrea Verona (TM Racing Factory Team) took part in the Czech Republic GP riding a TM 250 2T. The Veneto-born rider withdrew on Day One and had a good race the following day.
Thomas Oldrati (Team Honda RedMoto) gained a third place on Day 2 with
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres.
The
METZELER-supported riders dominated the
E2 class, completing the final podium on both days of racing. On Day One,
Joe Wootton (Team JET Zanardo) took first place on the podium, followed by
Loic Larrieu (TM Racing Factory Team) and by
Alex Salvini (S2 Motorsport Honda RedMoto Sembenini Team). The next day saw Alex Salvini winning, followed by
Loic Larrieu and
Giacomo Redondi (Team JET Zanardo).
In the
E3 class, the battle between the two
METZELER-supported riders
Steve Holcombe and
Danny McCanney continued.The official Beta rider chalked up another double win, while McCanney once again finished second on both days of racing.
The final act of the
FIM Enduro World Championship will take place on 28 and 29 September 2019 in Ambert, France, where the titles for the E2 and E3 classes, as well as the prestigious Enduro GP title, will be awarded.
