The years spent in the family shop – the brand name comes from the founder mother of the first jewelry shop – allowed me to understand in a "direct" way the existing relationships amongst creation, realization, wearability and sales. Following the whole process and directly experimenting with the final customer the success of the jewelry, I had the chance to optimize the collections, for example identifying in the pearls one of the most "donating" products. The customer who tries them out could hardly refrain from buying them because they illuminate, define and enhance the person who wears them. Their only "downside" is that pearls are often associated with a classic look that is really "bon ton", therefore I come up with models that use irregular, large and imperfect pearls turning such imperfection into a quality by mean of a clever use of design. Enhancing our imperfections, I wanted to communicate that, either jewelry either us," we are all unique pieces". For a dynamic, ironic, and sufficiently self-aware woman who does not pretend to be perfect, but plays with her flaws. From this perspective, the Molly collection, apparently designed for younger customers, falls in the same path, too. A path that sometimes, but not necessarily, is minimalist and is conceived for girls and ladies who like to exchange roles, do not withdraw themselves in a defined scheme and love lightness and contradictions. The white gold with diamonds clothespin is a marriage proposal that says "I Promise I will share with you even the laundry". The silver clothespin, the ring or the earrings, could even be a graduation gift that reads "Never again hanging clothes" and that reminds us when we used to play amongst the clothes and put on our fingers the spring of broken cloths. (Many mothers even bought it for themselves...) Besides the message, the object must show its coherence, harmony, beauty and comfort, for example the Molly ring, despite its square shape, has been designed to be comfortable even allowing to sleep or play tennis when wearing it. The Tin ring (designed along the lines of cans tab) reads "I will love you for the rest of my life even when you are drunk, after having spent the whole night talking, drinking, loving, playing and having fun together". What I carry along with me from the past is indeed the desire to keep on working with craftsmen who manually realize all the pieces each by each with care and professionalism using natural and precious materials. Pearls are mostly of fresh water origin, sought a great while for their "functional" imperfections for design purposes, so that sometimes it is impossible to recreate same models. For limited editions and on customer request, sometimes we operate sea pearls coming from Australia or Tahiti. The coloured stones come from all over the world, instead.
The ultimate idea is to communicate harmony and lightness with a bit of transgression and irony, notwithstanding the significant work that is behind each jewel consisting of subtraction so to get to the essence of things without being trivial.
