The ninth round of the Superbike world championship continued today at the Weather Tech Raceway of #lagunaseca in the United States with the Superpole and the first of the weekend's three races.
Yesterday, #toprakrazgatlioglu took part in the first two free practices, closing in seventh place with a time of 1'23"943. Today, the Turkish Puccetti #racing rider was back on the "Corkscrew" track for the third and final practice, in which he improved on his best time of yesterday to set a 1'23"503 and round out practice in fourth place overall.
The Superpole got underway in the late morning. On a race tyre, Toprak was up in the top positions. He then put in the qualifying solution and set a time of 1'22"875, finishing in seventh place and scoring a third row start for the afternoon's 25-lap race.
As is often the case, Toprak made a fantastic start which saw him immediately move into fourth place right behind the leaders. Once Bautista crashed, the Turkish Puccetti #racing rider maintained a very strong pace which allowed him to hold third place and breaking away from the chasing pack.
Another wonderful result for Razgatlioglu who scores the eighth podium of his career and his sixth this season.
