Paris-Modena cyclists cross the finish line at the historic Maserati headquarters

Modena, 6 June 2019 - The curtain falls on the 6th edition of the #parismodena tour, a charity #event in which customers, friends of #maserati, sportspersons and lovers of two and four wheels defy their limits for a good cause. This year the participants travelled across 1926km in five stages. Sportiness and performance are intrinsic elements of Maserati's DNA: in this #event they are put to the service of Rêves, a charity which supports seriously ill children to make their dreams come true.

Departing from Paris on 1 June, the cyclists then gathered in Aix-en-Provence and it was from the beautiful Provençal city that they began the first of the five stages that would take them to the historic home of the Trident Marque. Participants included Paul Belmondo, former French racing driver and actor, Davide Cassani, Italian national cycling team coach, cyclists Alessandro Ballan, Marco Velo, and Niccolò Bonifazio. Also present were Jose Miguel Antúnez, former captain of the Spanish national basketball team and Michelin-starred chef Andrea Sarri.

The group of 25 participants in the charity tour was escorted along the entire route by a fleet of #maserati Levante, Ghibli and Quattroporte, allowing them to combine the most challenging bike routes with exhilarating driving pleasure, alternating physical effort with the pure gran turismo driving experience that only a #maserati can offer.

After crossing the breath-taking landscape of the Gorges du Verdon and having received the triumphant welcome of the Eurofighters of the 4th Wing upon arriving in Grosseto, cyclists crossed southern Tuscany. Yesterday they arrived at the famous Piazza del Campo in Siena, and then cycled across some of the most beautiful white roads of the Chianti area arriving at Fonte de' Medici, a small village owned by Marchesi Antinori. Allegra Antinori - vice president of Antinori, and for whom the Centro Stile #maserati has created the entirely customized SUV Levante ONE OF ONE - joined the group for the day.

The final stage of the tour took place today: it started from Sasso Marconi in the Apennines and arrived at the Panini Museum, home to one of the most important historic #maserati collections worldwide. Here a group of 15 #maserati employees joined the cycling tour for the last 10km, which lead them to the finish line, in Viale Ciro Menotti, at the historic headquarters of #maserati in Modena.

Cyclists crossed the finish line at 15:17 CET.

The cycling kit has been designed by the #maserati Centro Stile and bicycles for tour participants were provided by Merida Italy. Three #maserati e-Bikes, in MC Alloy version, were also present: fully made in Italy, these e-race bikes, featuring a white and blue livery, took part in the #parismodena, making their official road debut. They will be available to order from the Official #maserati Dealer Network.
