SOLLOS with jaderalmeida at ICFF NYC

At ICFF – NYC, #jaderalmeida, #sollos Art Director and designer, selected among the most promising Brazilian designers, presents some iconic products and the new releases of the brand.

New York, 19-22 May 2019 – #jaderalmeida, #sollos Art director, has been chosen among the most gifted Brazilian designers, to attend ICFF, the international contemporary furniture fair in #newyork. Thanks to the Raiz project, conceived by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) together with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil), the most skilled Brazilian designers come to USA, under the bright lights of #newyork city at ICFF, to promote the unique talent of Brazil’s #design. ICFF has become a solid platform for North America market, showcasing the newest frontier of what’s best and what’s next for global luxury #interiordesign.

On the international stage of ICFF at the Javits Center in Manhattan, #jaderalmeida puts on display a selection of the iconic products and the brand-new releases he designed for #sollos. The fair booth, set in a key central position, narrates the designer productive collaboration with the brand through the most instantly recognizable icons and the latest novelties.

The stand, conceived by the designer himself, is divided into three areas. In the first part, a reception welcomes the visitors with two renowned icons of the brand like the Teca bar cart whose refined and timeless aesthetics teams up with the fluid lines of the wooden Loose hanger. These two icons openly reveal the exclusive and sophisticated #design by #jaderalmeida, marking #sollos wide-ranging collections out as timeless #design proposals.

On the reception back, an intense shot of Ella chair focuses on a captivating detail of the brand latest release, launched last April during Milan #design Week. Ella is a stylish #design proposal, combining together different elements: carbon steel, wood, leather or fabric. The refined choice of materials adds a sense of agility and extreme grace to this striking and elegant product.

The second part of the fair stand is composed of a white colossal shelf containing a selection of #sollos products in order to celebrate #jaderalmeida 15 years #partnership with the brand. The furniture choice on display depicts the extraordinary #design proposals signed by #jaderalmeida for #sollos along these years.

Among them, we also find some iconic armchairs, chairs and lounge chairs of the brand.

The Bell armchair, which won the prestigious Good #design Award in 2018, stands out for its curvy and delicate shape, its slender lines and its practical small size. The sturdy structure, made of solid wood, and the comfortable back and seat, both padded, achieve the perfect balance between aesthetics and well-being. The iconic Bossa chair translates into #design the soothing melody of the bossa nova, the renowned Brazilian music which gives its name to this piece. An elegant and balanced chair, composed of contrasting materials like the solid wood structure and the skillfully woven straw backrest and seat.

On show at ICFF are also the striking fluid #design of Clad armchair which takes inspiration from the Cycladic art and the iconic lounge chair Celine with its eye-catching sculptural #design. Moreover, the harmony of the armchair Easy with its wooden lightweight solidity and the precise lines of the lounge chair Licce celebrate the timeless twist of #sollos pieces designed by #jaderalmeida.

A great choice of complements in various finishes is also exposed on this remarkable shelf. The Jazz side table, launched last April during Milan #design Week, has a unique appeal based on the combination of premium materials like marble, cast iron or brass. Among these versatile solutions: the original Wed side table, composed of cork, wood and a brass handle; and the Cigg side tables with their light, functional and playful designs.

The light and flowery set of Jardim side tables, resembling a blooming garden, also celebrates #jaderalmeida collaboration with #sollos, together with the outstanding elegance of the side table Ville and the light transparency of the glass-made Mush coffee table. The practical stool Philipps, a light-hearted reinterpretation of a classic piano stool, and the refined wooden Easy stool conclude this overwhelming view of #sollos #design proposals over the years.

The third area is dedicated to a conceptual scenario of a dining room where the rigorous lines and the lightness of the Dinn dining table, designed in 2008 with a Louro preto veneer top, meet the subtle and fluid lines of Mia armchair, conceived to suit the most diverse interiors. This ideal dining room scenery finds the best lighting in a metaphorical rain of Mush pendant lamps composed of transparent glass domes, sweetly fluctuating over this conceptual ambience.

All these products, designed by #jaderalmeida for #sollos, highlight a supreme and diversified use of materials and a varied offer of finishes which are both distinctive features of the brand. #sollos #design proposals, presented at #icffnyc, confirm Jader Almeida’s timeless and exclusive #design, combining the best of the Brazilian culture to international references.
