Innovation, sustainable quality and multi-materials: These are the distinctive features of the new EMU collections At the 2019 Salone del Mobile. RioR50: outdoors for the last 50 years

At the 2019 edition of #salonedelmobile, #emu will be presenting its new outdoor collections created by combined company expertise and the creative flair of some of the most prestigious names in international #design. In fact, we have confirmed our collaboration with Sebastian Herkner, one of the most interesting under-40s on the global scene, who has designed Carousel, his second collection for #emu. On the other hand, we have a newpartnership with Meneghello Paolelli Associati, the young creative couple, who designed the Re-Wood seats, and with Angeletti and Ruzza, the industrial designers who have designed the Como collection. Lastly, #emu is celebrating the 50 years of our iconic Riowith a celebration re-edition of the collection, entrusted to the creativity of Emanuel Gargano, winner of the Golden Compass award, and Anton Cristell.

Our brand has always stood out for the high quality and strong identity of our products and we are introducing two new interesting material into our iconic mixwhich help make an inimitable offer. Our investments in the developing innovative, low impact production processes are yet another anchor in the philosophy of our trademark for which we have been awarded some major international certifications. #design, technology, versatility and sustainability combine in the #emu collections, which best interpret and anticipate the trends in style.

Carousel Collection- Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner's Carousel collection is an extremely original #design of furniture. Its distinctive #design features an aluminium structure which can be combined with a seat and back frame made of three different materials. The first is an innovative, multi-layer plastic fabric which has undergone a special process to press and bend it into ergonomic shapes, yet at the same time maintaining a soft surface. An interesting balance of elements which creates seats with alternating rigid and soft parts.

The other two upholsteries used for the seat and back are braided materials, giving the furniture a refined, yet natural look. The numerous possible combinations of Carousel allow you to create your own unique, personal outdoor spaces and more.

Re-Wood -Meneghello Paolelli Associati

Re-Wood, the collection designed by Menghello Paolelli Associati, offers a multi-material combination/contamination. An original process combines a bamboo fibre frame with the aluminium structure to create the seat and back. Not a covering, therefore, but a wooden material, whose welcoming shape accommodates soft cushions.Re-Wood is a major innovation in the outdoor #design sector, where this technology is used for the first time to produce outdoor furniture. The collection consists of five pieces: a chair, small armchair, armchair and two and three seater sofa, original seating which can personalise either a residential or contract setting with style.

RioR50 Collection - Emanuel Gargano and Anton Cristell

The most iconic of all #emu chairs, Rio, the historic model produced in over eight million pieces, celebrates its 50th anniversary. The brand is paying tribute with a new celebratory edition, the work of the designer duo, Emanuel Gargano and Anton Cristell. Made of iron stay rod and tubular mesh, the R50 series develops a 70s classic, but the interesting ergonomic padded seat makes the original manufacturing process stand out. The solid, yet light shape creates the perfect balance between comfort and aesthetics, not only in the classic armchair but also in the other items in the collection: chair, lounger, stool, rocking chair and coffee table.

Como Collection – Studio Angeletti e Ruzza

"The evocative value of memory is the leitmotif of the Como collection blends naturally and spontaneously in any setting, whatever the type of architecture." Thus, a contemporary classic was created, a collection of seats designed for the residential sector, capable of fitting in to any setting with natural spontaneity. A project which speaks the language of simplicity, where the materials, care for detail, the extremely accurate study of proportions and the effective function give a gracious contemporary contrast. At the Salone, #emu will be presenting the dining area of the Como collection with chair and small, high and low-backed armchair, followed by a relaxation area with lounger and divan.
