Il Giardino di Legno at Salone del Mobile 2019


From 9th to 14th April 2019 #ilgiardinodilegno will be at the 58th edition of the #salonedelmobile in Milan, stand D12 hall 10.
This year #ilgiardinodilegno presents to the visitors of Il #salonedelmobile new pieces of furniture featuring a really particular #design, each of them with a different “personality”. You will find teak wood tables in the shape of the letters of the alphabet, to bring a touch a further customization to your furniture. Moreover, there will be different tables and side tables that combine the purity of glass to the “materiality” of their wooden structure.

Going in the stand, designed in cooperation with Studio Salaris, our visitors will be greeted by a play of lights based on three colours: red, blue and green. The warm shades of red, joined to the play of lights and shadows given by the lightning and slightly wavy walls, will make you feel being already immersed in a warm end- summer afternoon. Some JOE’S collection wall screens with “Vienna Straw” inserts will divide the stand to let the guests immerse in the green foliage of the RING line or in the floral blue of the DUAL collection, both this year’s latest products.

The screen wall JOE’S collection is made of teak wood and woven natural fiber with “Vienna Straw” patter. The #design is curved and round: it recalls the idea of the arches and doors protecting and dividing the spaces. The very bright colours (red, green and blue) create a play of lights and shadows, of chromatic con- trasts: they allude to the shapes and purpose of old-style screen walls, but recalling the contempora- neity thanks to the “avant-garde” materials and the #design that combined a modern style to a more vintage one.

The DUAL collection presents new combinations of teak wood and woven natural rattan: the natural fiber gives a really warm visual and tactile sensation, but the square shapes of the #design firmly combine this line of furniture to a more contemporary style. The DUAL collection is actually named after the “duality” of the materials used: the fine sanding of the wooden parts makes them extremely smooth, giving an effect of great softness at touch. By contrast, the roughness of the woven fiber with the “Vienna Straw” pattern recalls the tactile effects typical of the Italian woven furniture of the beginning of the last century.

This year we present also a new line of chairs and sofas in upholstered fabric called RING. The fabric gives them a round and extremely soft shape, just as if the structure of the chairs would be embraced by the covering material. In contrast to the Boxer line presented last year, this line “embraces” the round section wooden structure, making it almost invisible. The backseats, in particular, are fully integrated in the anatomy of the piece of furniture: at a glance, their thickness becomes the essential (and the most comfortable!) part of the sofa or of the chair.
