G.T.Design presents “Moving Forest” - A full visual and sensory immersion in Deanna Comellini’s creations. A preview of the Fuorisalone 2019

In a unique, exclusive preview, G.T.Design presents Moving Forest during the Milan #design Week 2019. Deanna Comellini has designed a new, highly-evocative collection for the historical brand of exclusive and experimental designer rugs. The rugs are the protagonist of the installation created in Milan’s Brera #design District (in the E-stra showroom on Corso Garibaldi 34). It enchants and interacts with the public with the fascination of language and movements of nature.

Following the success of UltraNative, the designer Deanna Comellini continues her intense visual and sensory research into textile surfaces, shifting attention from the primordial and archaic world of signs of the past collection to immerge in the optical and chromatic magic of the plant world. Moving Forest is a journey into the rediscovery of natural signs, using movement as the medium. Among the rugs presented, in high-quality digitally-printed wool, the exclusive format Native G.T.Design: a format with a unique, uneven, flowing profile, forming hybrid shape lying somewhere between a circle and a square. Thanks to these ‘undefined’ borders, the eyes are drawn and mesmerized by figures reminiscent of images perceived elsewhere.

Moving Forest, as its name would suggest, refers to the concept of ‘movement’ in a physical sense, and also something that shakes and stirs the emotions.

Moving Forest is provocative: a forest that walks, that dances, a gimmick or something that only exists in the imagination, an environment for walks and full-immersion, to absorb inspiration from the primordial force of nature.

The Moving Forest explores the interaction between different shapes and lines extended over block colors, to create a stratified effect, a ramification of light into new territories.

The primary dimension of a ray of light that filters between the leaves of a living forest, the entwining branches and fronds that weave a uniform and always unique pathway, the fascinating quality of geometric, unpredictable, uneven shapes that lie beyond the rules of human order: these are the images impressed on the rugs of the Moving Forest collection.

The shades quiver through constant variants of blues and greens, interrupted on occasion by splashes of white, red and yellow, hues that chase each other and invent a warm filigree against a soft, light backdrop, created thanks to the use of top-quality fine wool and its new technological contaminations.

With this new rug collection, Deanna Comellini has created a dimension to embrace the imagination from other worlds, other spaces, other ecologies. The inhabitants who decide to enter will be immerged in a constant intrigue of what is hidden, what lies within the range of the forest. As in a “shinrin-yoku” - the Japanese word for 'forest bath' - they lose themselves in a world that moves, lives, breathes, abandoning to meditational ecstasy to once again be an integral part of everything, and to meet again, ultimately, in a natural universe that is observed, contacted, respected

The exhibition ‘Moving Forest’, from 8 to 14 April 2019, is a new chapter in the history of G.T.Design. The research and experimentation into textile fibers led to uniquely innovative creations for the sector of upholstery textiles. The #event closely examines the vocation of research into the contemporary rug by designer Deanna Comellini, powered by more than 40 years of history and success; on the one hand, the resulting textile surfaces enhance the yarns and exalt new processes, and on the other, they explore new boundaries - such as digital printing – and create broad-reaching expressive languages.
