Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu injured in Superpole, race1 cancelled

Low temperatures at the #assen TT Circuit in #thenetherlands for day of this fourth Superbike world championship round. Yesterday, #toprakrazgatlioglu, riding for Turkish Puccetti #racing, closed the first two practice sessions in seventh place with a fastest time of 1'35"554. This morning, on a dry track with a surface temperature of just 4 degrees, the young Turk took part in the third and final practice. His best lap was a 1'36"407, but thanks to yesterday's time, Toprak retained seventh place in the overall standings.

In Superpole Razgatlioglu used the race tyre at first. In the later stages he put in the qualifying solution and headed back out on track, where he started to push. While making his fast lap, another rider crashed in front of him and Toprak also fell as a result, probably on dirt left on track by his rival. Quickly transferred to the medical centre, the Turkish Puccetti #racing rider was found to have suffered various grazes, some serious, as well as slight cranial trauma. For this reason, he was declared unfit to take part in the afternoon's race. Tomorrow he will have to undergo further tests before a decision is made as to whether he can take part in the day's two races.

Race 1 did not take place in the end due to bad weather and snow falling before departure.
