Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu eight in the first WSBK race at Aragon

Sunny but cool conditions at Motorland #aragon in Spain, the stage for the Superpole and the first of three races making up the third round of the Superbike world championship. In yesterday's free practices #toprakrazgatlioglu, riding for Turkish #puccettiracing, concluded in thirteenth place with a time of 1'51"232. This morning the Turkish rider was back out on track for the final practice, and with a best of 1'51"966 he retained thirteenth place in the overall standings. In Superpole, Toprak ducked under the 1'51 barrier and with a fastest time of 1'50"985 he scored sixteenth position. This translated into a sixth row start for him in the race, which ran over a distance of 18 laps. The Turkish Puccetti rider got off the line well but to avoid a rider who crashed as a result of a contact, right in front of him, Razgatlioglu was forced to close the throttle and found himself at the back of the pack. He quickly began to recover and thanks to his solid race pace, Toprak moved back up through the field to finish in eighth place. Tomorrow Razgatlioglu will take part in the ten-lap Tissot Superpole Race followed by race 2, which like today will run over 18
laps.

Combined free practice results: 1) Bautista (Ducati) – 2) Lowes (Yamaha) – 3) Rea (Kawasaki) – 4) Sykes (BMW) - 5) Laverty (Ducati) ......... 13) Razgatliuoglu (Kawasaki)
Superpole: 1) Bautista (Ducati) – 2) Cortese (Yamaha) – 3) Sykes (BMW) – 4) Lowes (Yamaha) – 5) Rinaldi (Ducati) – 6) Laverty (Ducati) .......... 16) Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki)
Race1: 1) Bautista (Ducati) – 2) Rea (Kawasaki) – 3) Davies (Ducati) – 4) Lowes (Yamaha) – 5) Sykes (BMW) – 6) Van der Mark (Yamaha) – 7) Cortese (Yamaha) – 8) Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki)

Toprak Razgatlioglu: "I got away well when the lights went out, but then I saw Reiterberger crash, and to avoid making contact with his bike, I had to slow, which meant everyone passed me and I found myself at the back. I soon got into a good rhythm though, and began to make up some places. I was lapping with the same times as the group in front of me and moved in on them, finishing in eventual eighth position. The bike is going well but we need to tweak something in terms of the electronics. I'm confident ahead of tomorrow because if I can make a good start, I can achieve an even better result. I thank my team for their support".
