Alfa Romeo Racing - Test 03, Day 01 – With love from BahRAIN

Unexpected weather conditions left teams at the Bahrain International Circuit with limited running time, as rain showers caused for a lengthy pause in today’s testing session.

Antonio Giovinazzi completed a total of 53 laps, with a focus on aerodynamic and tyre testing. Despite the limited time spent on track, the team was able to collect valuable data which will be used in preparation for the upcoming Grands Prix.

With hopes for better weather tomorrow, the team aims to complete a full second day of testing with rookie Mick Schumacher taking over the cockpit of the Alfa Romeo #racing C38 for the first time.

Antonio Giovinazzi (car number 99):
“It is a bit of a shame about the weather today – you don’t really expect for it to rain in the desert. We had some good track time this morning but then the wind picked up and it started to rain, so the conditions limited our running time. We completed good race simulations and I am happy about that. We learned some new things and we look forward to arriving in Shanghai to see where we can go from here.”

Fastest lap: 1:32.067 (C3)
