An aristocratic preciousness of details, a contemporary homage to classic and luxurious living which at the same time is able to maintain an ironic and light attitude. The unusual character of Fratelli Boffi gives life to a new, unexpected collection that puts on stage, at the Salone del Mobile 2019, a pièce with a sumptuous personality.
Reconfirming its location in Pad. 1 (Booth D08), the company once again this year entrusts the definition of the spaces and styling to Bruno Tarsia Studio. The company’s cabinetmaking skills – along with its ability to shape the most precious woods, giving life to audacious forms – combined with precious materials and refined coverings, will give life to multi-purpose environments within the installation that mix intimate night areas with public spaces and lavish lounges.
Oblù, a play on words combining the Italian word for porthole, oblò, and the color blue, is a new chest designed by the Analogia Project designers which will be shown as a preview to the 2019 collection,
Oblù is a mysterious container, a magic box that in part hides and in part reveals its use. The elegant rectangular structure, made of pear wood and supported by two semicircles in burnished brass, is characterized and embellished by circular openings that reveal a marbled decoration, as if they were windows, or rather portholes, opening out into another dimension.
These embellishments recall the traditional marbled paper technique in the hyper-decorative peacock tail variant. The choice of blue in the designer’s project recalls a marine setting seen through a porthole, as suggested by the name of the chest.
The use of pear wood, with its unusual grain which is particularly delicate, and the use of a 45 degree cut on the edges of the chest are all details that confirm the elective relationship that connects the company with the material, supported by almost one hundred years of deep knowledge of working with wood.
Once again, the #salonedelmobile will be the stage on which the company narrates its vision of luxury, of decoration and contemporary living, in a storytelling made up of unexpected lines, rich and precious materials, and a masterful attention to craftsmanship and detail.
