The #changinternationalcircuit in Buriram hosted the second Supersport world championship race in very hot and sunny conditions today. During yesterday's Superpole, #raffaelederosa put in a great performance, scoring a fifth-place finish and, therefore, a second row start in today's race.
Despite working hard with his technical team, #federicofuligni was unfortunately unable to resolve some set-up problems in practice and, as a result, he couldn't do more than twentieth in Superpole, meaning that he lined up on row seven of the grid.
De Rosa got away well when the lights went out, but he was then passed by several riders, finding himself eighth on lap five. Raffaele then increased his pace and, lapping with the same times as the frontrunners, was able to move up to final fifth position.
Fuligni had an unlucky race. He didn't make a particularly strong start but was able to recover over subsequent laps, moving up to fifteenth place. On the penultimate lap however, he unfortunately suffered a crash, owing to a stone that pierced the radiator of his MV Agusta F3 675 and caused cooling liquid to escape and get onto the rear tyre.
The next Supersport race weekend is scheduled for the weekend of 5-7 April and will play out at the Motorland Aragon circuit near Alcaniz, in Spain.
