Under the prism
Following the Glass Pagoda and the Odeum exhibitions during #salonedelmobile of prior years, #jcp Universe returns to the grounds of Rho Fiera with Under the Prism, an exhibition presenting new ways to perceive and experience objects.
JCP aims to transform normality, creating unconventional objects for the sphere of contemporary living, in a fusion between art and #design. The #jcp Universe was created in 2015, by an idea of the architect #livioballabio. Brainchild of a radical think tank of creatives, the brand was developed in collaboration with CTRLZAK Studio, founded by Katia Meneghini and Thanos Zakopoulos. The creative direction was entrusted to them once again this year.
The new artificers that have been selected to give life to JCP’s creations this year are #analogiaproject, Gum #design, #Debonademeo and #Sovrappensiero, in addition to new projects by Samer Alameen, Sam Baron, Matteo Cibic and CTRLZAK. #jcp aims to change the way #people perceive objects making them see things under a new light. Not mere objects, but pieces that have a mul- titude of expressions stemming from their apparent identity.
This year’s cosmic exhibition orchestrated by CTRLZAK becomes the nucleus for JCP’s new artifacts. Within a specially conceived setup, the exhibition takes the form of an otherworldly prism, offering the visitor a view of another universe through various filters and perspectives. The artifacts become protagonists of chromatic micro-situations where the canons of vision get transformed, revealing new visual aspects.
