Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East, triple win for Target in Dubai

Sant’Agata Bolognese/Dubai, 16 February 2019 – The first round of the Lamborghini #supertrofeomiddleeast 2019 concluded with a complete triumph for the Target #racing team. Timur Boguslavskiy and Frederik Schandorff won the three races held at the #dubai Autodrome, so they are comfortably leading in the overall standings as they prepare for the second and conclusive weekend in Abu Dhabi (22 and 23 February). In the wake of their victory in Friday's heat, Timur Boguslavskiy and Frederik Schandorff dominated Race 2, complicated by a mild sand storm, at the wheel of the Target #racing team's Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 9. Second place went to Takashi Kasai and Juuso Puhakka in the FFF #racing team's car no. 63. The Finn crossed the finish line followed closely by Axcil Jefferies, who had replaced Ramez Azzam behind the wheel of the Konrad team's Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 29, placing 3rd Overall and first in the Pro-Am category. The Am class witnessed a new success for Vincent Schwartz with the Konrad Motorsport team's Huracán no. 11; Gerard Van Der Horst in car no. 98 won the day in the Lamborghini Cup. Race 3 opened with Boguslavskiy adroitly maintaining the lead, taking advantage of his pole position, followed by Kasai and Jefferies. Special mention is deserved in the case of Schwartz, the Am driver who immediately gained third position, taking advantage of a spin on the part of Kasai. Halfway through the race Boguslavskiy handed over the wheel of the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 9 to Schandorff and the Target team once again stole the show with a lightning fast pit stop. After the pit-stops, Schandorff once again found himself in charge, with Azzam, who had replaced Jefferies, and Schwartz kept at a respectable distance. At the end of the 50 minutes of #racing, Schandorff sped across the finish line in first position, treating the Target team to an exhilarating triple win and a solid lead in the Pro class. Second place went to Azzam and Jefferies, first in the Pro-Am class, ahead of their fellow Konrad team mate, Schwartz, once again proving to be the best in the Am category. As for the Lamborghini Cup, Gerard Van Der Horst's Huracán remained in the pit, enabling Gabriele Murroni to win the day, leaving the field open as to who will win the title.
