Pirelli fill the role of protagonist through Ottobiano snow in the second round of the International Italian MX Series

Antonio Cairoli grabs victory in MX1 and the SUPERCAMPIONE classes. In MX2 Jorge Prado repeats his success from the Riola opener

Ottobiano (Italy), 3 February 2018 – Another triumphant day for Pirelli in the second round of the International Italian MX Series which was hosted by the Ottobiano circuit. Pirelli’s riders tackled the sandy venue south of Milan with the SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and the SCORPION™ MX Soft rear tyres. Even through the snow and frost of Ottobiano the product showed excellent performance, allowing Pirelli equipped riders to dominate the podium in the MX1 and Supercampione classes and take the win in MX2 with Jorge Prado.

Antonio Cairoli was excellent in the MX1 race. The nine-time World Champion, despite being struggling with a virus, started in fourth place and managed to climb up to first position. Behind the winner, Tim Gajser was a strong runner-up. The HRC man beat Romain Febvre who was third and owner of the holeshot.

In MX2 reigning world champion Jorge Prado decimated the opposition. The Spaniard took command at the start and kept his advantage until the finish. Calvin Vlaanderen finished in second place despite a fall in the final laps that forced him to a charge back to speed.

Next Sunday the Tazio Nuvolari circuit in Mantua will host the final round of 2019 edition of the International Italian MX Series.
