Refinement and elegance at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Torino. Pedrali furnishings within an iconic space for the city history
DoubleTree by Hilton Turin Lingotto is placed within a building that, with its own structure, tells a piece of history of the city of Turin. Located inside the historic, former FIAT factory, the building designed by #renzopiano, has recently been subject to a restyling by the architect #michelearcarese for a re-branding of the Hilton chain.
The new project has given a more contemporary style to the building while preserving its original architectural features: high ceilings, large windows and the historic automobile racetrack on the roof. There are some new furnishings and some stylistic elements have been modified: minor interventions driven by the desire to establish a dialogue with the original project.
A charming characteristic of the project is the contrast between curved and straight lines, given by the use of warm and cold materials like wood and bronzed metal. The dominant colors of the whole room are in fact the ones of cherry-wood, brushed bronzed brass and intense light blue. These colours are also repeated in the restaurant area, which has been furnished using some products from the #pedrali collection.
The restaurant, whose kitchen is run by chef Daniele Giolito, is an essential and majestic space due to its height and magnificence, which is appreciated from the panoramic elevators. Luminous panels have been employed with both an aesthetic and a technical function: on one hand they make the space warm and cosy, integrating perfectly with the cherry-wood covering, on the other hand they protect the walls from impacts, respecting the existing geometries and re-modulating the space bringing it back to a human perceptive scale.
