SEAT global Communications director #christianstein has been appointed General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations for #Seat internationally and of Institutional Relations for the Volkswagen Group in #spain. In his new role, which he will assume on 1st November, Stein will continue to lead all of SEAT’s Communication activities and will also coordinate Volkswagen Group Institutional Relations strategy in #spain, Portugal and North Africa.

This integration aims to create synergies and give greater coherence to all of the #Seat brand’s communication, institutional and outreach activities worldwide. The combined area of Communication and Institutional Relations will be responsible for enhancing the image of the company and consolidating relations with all the stakeholders associated with it, from employees to the highest Public Administration officials, including the partners and start-ups across industries with whom the company is building up its ecosystem of innovation and mobility.

“Christian Stein’s appointment as General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations is an acknowledgement of the valuable work carried out under his leadership”, pointed out #LucaDeMeo, President of #Seat and of the Management Board of Volkswagen Group España Distribución. “The merging of both areas under a sole leadership is a logical, strategic decision in order to continue to strengthen the global positioning of #Seat and of the Volkswagen Group in #spain.”

The Volkswagen Group’s institutional representation

SEAT’s clout in the projects that the Volkswagen Group is carrying out in the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa has led #Seat to coordinate the interests of the Group in this region. In this context, the President of #Seat was recently appointed highest representative of the Volkswagen Group in #spain. With his new responsibilities for Institutional Relations at both #Seat and the Volkswagen Group, Stein will further support de Meo’s dual capacity.

According to Dr. #thomassteg, head of External Relations and Government Affairs of the Volkswagen Group, “as the person in charge of the Public Affairs of the Volkswagen Group in #spain and Portugal, Stein’s goal will be to continue to strengthen the positioning of the Group in a region as important as the Iberian Peninsula, where the Group is established since the 80’s and has a leading industrial position”.

An international career

Stein (Neuilly, France, 1970) has been the director of Communication at #Seat since 2015, after leading the Marketing department since joining the company in 2011. He is a member of SEAT’s senior management and in his new role will continue to report to #LucaDeMeo as before. He holds a degree in Economics and Social Sciences and a degree in Business Administration from the École de Commerce et Management - EM Lyon Business School, located in Lyon (France), and speaks five languages.
