Italian GT - Five Ferrari crews on track at Monza

Monza, 5 October 2018 – The final sprint for the 16th Italian GT Championship is about to start. The series is heading to the #monza Circuit this coming weekend for the sixth and penultimate round of the season, that will be followed by the grand finale at Mugello towards the end of the month. #monza will also host the Finali Mondiali #ferrari from 1 to 4 November in what will be a weekend to remember.

GT3. In #gt3 class the challenge will involve #ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi and specifically championship leader Stefano Gai, and his chasers Zampieri-Altoè and Bar Baruch. The three lineups are within 17 points. Gai (Ferrari 488-Scuderia Baldini 27 Network) has a six-point lead and will race at #monza having Giancarlo Fisichella as co-driver. They come from the win in Vallelunga Race-2 after Zampieri-Altoè had prevailed in Race-2. The Israeli Bar Baruch is also all set for an attack weekend on the Audi together with Mattia Drudi.

From #ferrari Challenge. The penultimate round of the season will also have some debuts and comebacks. The British drivers Chris Froggatt and John Sawbridge will move their first steps in the Italian GT on the #ferrari 488 run by AF Corse. Easy Race will field a #ferrari 488 for Daniel Mancinelli and Andrea Fontana.

GT3 Light. Two new arrivals will also be present in #gt3light class: the 17 years old Simon Mann will have Matteo Cressoni on his side on the #ferrari 458 Italia #gt3 run by AF Corse and will need to beat the other 458 Italia #gt3 run by Easy Race driven by Matteo Davenia.

Schedule. The sixth weekend of the season began on Friday with two free practice sessions. On Saturday the two qualifying sessions will be at 9.35 and at 10.35. Race-1 will be underway on Saturday at 13,20; Race-2 will be on Sunday at 14. Both races will go live on Rai Sport, on the Facebook page of the championship and on www.acisport.it/CIGT.
