Suzuki - Weekend action
The third weekend of August sees Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 in action in British Superbikes and also the RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 on track for AMA Motocross in the USA.
The Buildbase Suzuki team have been on track today for final qualifying for tomorrow’s eighth round of the #bennettsbritishsuperbikechampionship at #cadwellpark in Lincolnshire – and Bradley Ray was on fire aboard his 2018 GSX-R1000 setting pole position for tomorrow’s opening of two 18-lap races. Team-mate Richard Cooper finished in 14th position and will start from Row 5. In the Superstock 1000 class, Buildbase Suzuki’s Billy McConnell was also on the pace again, putting his GSX-R1000 on the front row and into second position for tomorrow’s 15-lap race.
In America, the Autotrader/ Yoshimura/ Suzuki Factory RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 riders are at the Budds Creek National, round 11 and the penultimate round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Washington DC. In the 450 class, Weston Peick continues to finish strongly in the top-10 throughout the series and currently holds sixth in the points aboard his RM-Z450, while Justin Hill, who has recently moved-up to the class from the 250s, is still finding his form and showing signs of brilliance aboard the bigger machine. In the 250 class, young rookie Enzo Lopes is another fighter and continues to show a lot of form in his first year in-at-the-deep-end in AMA MX Championship competition.
