MXGP - Four Kawasaki’s qualify top eight at Loket

Clement Desalle, #adamsterry, Tommy Searle and #alessandrolupino are each amongst the top eight to the gate in their respective classes at the Czech round of the FIM World #motocross Championships.

The Serpentine track overlooking the idyllic town of Loket. The long start straight with an awkward uphill first turn has never traditionally provided the polesetter with a significant advantage but it is important to avoid an outside gate. #clementdesalle of the Monster Energy #kawasakiracing Team rode a sensible no-risk race to fifth in qualification the #mxgp class after emerging from the first corner in that position and the current world number three is now ideally situated to challenge for honours tomorrow.

Adam Sterry of the F&H #racing Team emulated Desalle's fifth position in the MX2 class and can also now look forward confidently to his best result of the season, while Tommy Searle of Bike It DRT Kawasaki raced to seventh in #mxgp with #alessandrolupino of Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki just one place further back in eighth.

Clement Desalle: « I was eighth on the gate for the qualifying race; it could have been better but there was an incident each time I went on track to improve my time. Anyway, eighth is OK here for the start. In the qualifying race I left the first corner fifth behind Herlings; I could follow him for half of the race, but when he started to push hard I was content to settle for fifth. That's OK for the start and the races for points are tomorrow. »

Adam Sterry: « I have been looking forward coming to this track as it’s one of my favourites and I had a solid day, exactly what I have been needing on a Saturday. I have the fifth gate pick for tomorrow so hopefully I can get a good start and fight for a podium. When I saw the rain coming just before the qualification race I switched goggles three times, but it didn't rain as much as I expected and the track stayed good. »

Tommy Searle: « It was a positive Saturday for us. I set fast laps in both practice sessions with a third and a sixth position and I felt really comfortable. I got a good start in the qualifying race, probably my best of the year, and it could have been better but I wheelied a little. I was seventh all the way through the race; that’s OK but I feel confident I can improve a little bit tomorrow and I will be ready! Everything has been coming good in the last few weeks; I know what I’m capable of but mentally it was difficult after the injury; now I feel at ease on the bike again."
