Off-weekend for F4E Racing

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 — The third round of the #EMX125 series represented one of the longest travel hauls of the season for the multinational #f4eracing crew. Due to an unfortunate turn of events the air miles collected were not reflected in the points haul. #mariolucas remains the team’s highest ranked rider, he’s tenth equal on points. In order to let his knee heal up Dutch ace Kjell Verbruggen sat out the Latvian race but given th #EMX125 debut of James Scott a three rider-effort was fielded anyway. After a disappointing time practice session Wannes van de Voorde was relegated to the LCQ. Wanny rode his #f4eracing KTM to the holeshot in the last chance qualifier but had to give up few spots before he crossed the line fifth. In the motos van de Voorde failed to replicate the form that saw him grabbing his first top-10 finish at the previous European 125 round in Arco di Tren Although Mario couldn’t get a hot lap in his qualifying session, he still felt quite okay on the san track. In the first #moto Lucas finished 13th after a bad start. The final #moto turned out to be be a frustrating affair for the promising Spaniard. Due to a fallen rider in front of him Mario had to br to a standstill and could only re-join the race as one of the last riders. In spite of serious traffic, #771 #f4eracing rider recorded solid lap times and managed to recover to 18th. However, disaster struck when Lucas crashed and was unable to fire up his bike again. Mario was thus forced to retire. After a very mediocre time in qualifying, New Zealand’s James Scott had to go to the starting g in 25th position. Still, the young Kiwi got great drive in the start. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to take advantage of the start after falling victim to a technical problem. In the eventful second rac James had to settle for a 22nd place. This weekend the #f4eracing team will head to Teutschenthal in Germany to put things straight at the fourth round of the European 125cc #motocross series.

James Scott: "I never really got into the flow in qualifying so that didn’t help for my gate pick. I shame I DNF’d in the first #moto because I managed quite a good start. The start in the second #moto reminded me of bumper cars ride, I got hit immediately out of the gate and into the first tu as well. So in the end not a great weekend at all but we’ll give it everything to come out swingin in Germany.”

Mario Lucas: "It was a strange weekend for me. The track was quite difficult and hard to read. Although the feeling was not great I managed to make a decent comeback in the first race. In t second #moto it was the other way around! The feeling was better but unfortunately I ended the race without points. I am looking forward to Teutschenthal, normally this is a track that should b better for me. "

Wannes van De Voorde: "In general it was certainly not great. I made too many mistakes and that’s when you pay every error cash because it’s hard to comeback if all riders are so close to each other. I had a good start in the second #moto but I was unable to capitalize on that. While it wasn’t exactly the race weekend I wanted I still learned a lot.”
