Weekend full of podiums for METZELER and for the riders Steve Holcombe,
Jamie McCanney, Andrea Verona and Davide Soreca in the second round of the Enduro
World Championship held at Santiago de Compostela
Santiago de Compostela (Spain), 2 May 2018 - Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the city of the famous Santiago's walk, hosted the
second round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship. A weekend full of successes for
METZELER and for the riders supported by the tyre brand. The race was held on different types of terrain: mud, huge pools of water, red and hard land and the riders had to fight against bad weather and heavy rains that fell on Sunday.
At the end of the two days of competition, the Beta Factory rider
Steve Holcombe won the Enduro GP and the E3 class on Day 2. Among the protagonists of the Spanish weekend also
Jamie McCanney, Yamaha's factory rider, who was the protagonist of the E1 class and also of the Enduro GP. In the Junior class the absolute protagonist was
Andrea Verona bearer of the TM Racing Factory Team totaling a first and a second place overall and two wins of the day in the Junior 1. Victory in the Junior 2 also for his teammate
Davide Soreca with the
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME.
The riders supported by
METZELER continue to dominate the Enduro World Championship and on both days of races in the Enduro GP class all the riders who got on the podium were fitted with
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME tyres.
METZELER dominates the prestigious Enduro GP, in Day One
Alex Salvini climbed to the top step of the podium followed by riders
Eero Remes and
Loic Larrieu. In Day 2 is the official Beta
Steve Holcombe to conquer the first place followed by
Jamie McCanney, Yamaha Factory and Alex Salvini.
In the
E1 class the star is
Jamie McCanney who won two first places while
Davide Guaneri (Team Honda RedMoto) won the third step of the podium on the opening day.
The
E2 class, as in the Enduro GP, was a land of conquest for the riders equipped with
METZELER tyres.
Alex Salvini signed a splendid double win while
Loic Larrieu and
Eero Remes scored the remaining positions.
In the
E3 class, the
METZELER-supported rider
Steve Holcombe ran a comeback race in Day One, finishing in second place and the following day he dominated unchallenged going to win a tough day for the bad weather.
Andrea Verona, in his first year in the
Junior class, was one of the protagonists of the GP of Spain collecting two first places in the Junior 1 and a second and a first place in the
Junior. His team-mate
Davide Soreca,
METZELER MCE 6 DAYS EXTREME, also won a victory in the
Junior 2 and a second place in the
Junior in Day 2.
The third round of the
FIM EnduroGP World Championship is scheduled for the weekend of 4-6 May in Castelo Branco, Portugal.
