AZZURRA PRESENTS DANIEL LIBESKIND’S HERA COLLECTION IN NEW MILAN SHOWROOM In preview, Azzurra unveils new collection, new showroom, and new approach to inhabiting the bathroom

Azzurra, a brand specializing in ceramic basins and sanitary-ware, presents Hera, the new #design collection by architect Daniel Libeskind, Studio Libeskind. “The #design is inspired by the Neoclassical marble sculptures—to reflect fluid and simple beauty,” said designer Daniel Libeskind. “The form brings together the sense of movement and transparency while addressing practical #design solutions for everyday objects, added Libeskind.” For the Hera Collection, Libeskind reimagined the ceramic basin as sculpture. With expressive clarity, the #design creates unexpected geometrical forms that appear to fold and curve. The resulting sequence of angles and lines creates a chiaroscuro effect that emphasizes its composition. The Hera collection is a manifestation of the search for harmony both in relation to itself and to the surrounding spaces of the room, house, shop, or restaurant in which it is placed. “Design has become so important to people’s lives on a global scale. You can find good #design in very small inexpensive things to, of course, the super luxury. Mies van der Rohe famously once said “God is in the details” and I believe this is really true,” said Daniel Libeskind. “I am always mindful when designing products, just as I am as an architect, to create something truly unique and functional, and I am lucky to be able to collaboration with the best manufacturers in the business,” adds Libeskind. The final result is a study of the ideal beauty, never static but instead in a state of perfectly balanced movement; a reference to life and a desire to satisfy the aesthetic senses - all experienced in everyday life. As in neoclassical architecture, the object-sculpture lives off of its intrinsic harmony and its relations with its context, in the noble simplicity and silent grandeur of an indissoluble whole.
