Eric De Seynes & Camelia Liparoti Top The SSV Class Podium At Sardinia Rally 2017

With #yamaha powered riders dominating all three major classes of the Sardinia #rally 2017, #yamaha Motor Europe Chief Operating Officer #ericdeseynes together with co-driver #camelialiparoti raced the new #yxz1000r SS SE side-by-side machine to victory in the SSV class of the week-long #rally event on the Italian island.

Demonstrating the potential of Yamaha's new SSV vehicle in varied #racing conditions, #ericdeseynes and #camelialiparoti successfully completed a total of 1,320 km over six days and across the island of Sardinia.

Taking the provisional lead in the SSV class right after the short 5km-long Prologue, the duo went on to deliver Yamaha's #yxz1000r SS SE machine its first major victory in a multi-stage #rally event. Living up to its fame as one of the most challenging events in the international #rally #racing calendar, the Sardinia #rally 2017 provided numerous navigational challenges to all competitors.

Remaining fast and consistent despite a couple of flat tyres, the duo of Eric and Camelia managed to retain the lead in their class all the way to the finish in the city of San Teodoro. Taking advantage of their participation in this week-long event in order to test a few technical solutions, the feedback collected from Eric and Camelia will be used to further improve Yamaha's SSV vehicle for competition purposes.

In what has been a great event for #yamaha riders, Italy's #alessandrobotturi topped the Motorcylcles category aboard his #rally modified #wr450f machine, with #yamaha France supported #sebastiensouday getting a well-deserved win in the Quad class.
