Detroit students build and test 1965 Ford Daytona coupe as part of ford fund steam education learning experience
- Ford Motor Company Fund collaborates with Detroit Public Schools Community District and Experience Aviation to engage students with STEAM learning, career opportunities
- More than 50 career and technical education students assembled a 1965 #ford #daytona Coupe with nearly 1,000 parts over the course of 18 weeks
- Program culminates with mini hack session where students practice solution-based thinking to improve vehicle safety and sustainability through technology
DEARBORN, Mich., June 2, 2017 – More than 50 Detroit high school students gathered Friday to unveil a unique class project – a 1965 #ford #daytona Coupe.
The assignment – in which students assembled a working vehicle from nearly 1,000 parts – is the culmination of a learning experience created by #ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of #ford Motor Company, in collaboration with Detroit Public Schools Community District and Experience Aviation.
